Now they're probably going to appear in every episode again, just like the good ol' days.
I miss their jetpacks already.
But they were just as useless, only boring XD
I hope they go back to being idiots. At least it seems like they'll blast off. I really want to hear "Ya na kanjiiiiiiiiiiii!" again XD
No, they weren't. With their BW selves, they actually managed to accomplish
some stuff, and their presence in an episode was only required from time to time, and not in each and every episode that came. They weren't really that much more impressive in BW, but definitely more than in previous sagas.
Uh, like what? All their plans ended up failing. I do agree that they
looked more impressive, though.
But anyway, we should probably stop this because this is a thread for Episode N. I doubt we're going back to the good ol' days. Sucks for me, but I guess it's good for you XD
But of course they would. What, did you expect the bad guys to win in Pokémon? What I meant is that they actually did accomplish some minor things and getting pretty far in their missions. As in what happened at the Dream Yard, the Subway arc, the arc with the ancient Pokémon and the whole Kami Trio ending.
I'm pretty sure that they're returning to their old selves.
Well, Akagi did kind of accomplish what he wanted in the end, so I guess bad guys can win in Pokémon. Although, no, I am not expecting them to win. But really, in the end, those missions accomplished nothing. The only thing they've succeeded at, as far as I can remember, is stealing a thunderstone Satoshi didn't want to begin with back in DP. There's little difference between getting far in a mission and failing and just failing. The result is the same. And thus, I prefer to be entertained while they fail, instead of cringing at the awfulness of their characters. If I wanted expressionless characters, I'd watch Kristen Stewart movies.
I hope they do. They are blasting off according to some pics, but they still look boring as hell.

@Satoshi_Pikachu, @Chiplet ...you don't have to quote you guys' entire conversation every time you reply to each other.

In the Japanese version of the games, the word we're translating as "friend" here - tomodachi - is always written out in katakana (トモダチ) whenever N's speaking. It's never written out in kanji (友達) or hiragana (ともだち) like you'd expect it to be.
So basically, whenever you see トモダチ, you know N's involved.
I have no idea if the English versions of the games tried to adapt this little quirk in any way.
Re: BW 110 "'Friend'...His Name is N!"
Does it say anything informative i.e something new about BW2N?
Re: BW 110 "'Friend'...His Name is N!"
Who's that one from the pic?

Isn't that Yūichi Nakamura? You know, since it is an interview about N's VA, of which he is?
I except some new bits of information, but not much. But knowing my luck it's probably going to be nothing new.
Re: BW 110 "'Friend'...His Name is N!"
Not really. He talks about how there's never been a character like N in this series before and how we'll be able to see him grow throughout the course of "Episode N." He discusses N's relationship with pokemon, how the character questions the reason pokemon exist, and the fact that N's approach to Pokemon and Satoshi's approach to Pokemon are different. He also talks about how amazing it was to work with a veteran voice actor like Matsumoto Rika.

Has this ever been brought up in the manga or games? I don't recall N ever questioning the reason why Pokemon exist.
Re: BW 110 "'Friend'...His Name is N!"
N's character development and philosophy on Pokémon are the only things that I find interesting about this saga. But if Mewtwo ends up having a role as foreshadowed by some of the merchandise, I'll have that to look forward to, as well. It would be a missed opportunity if Mewtwo and N didn't interact. Unfortunately, I don't think that Meowth will have much to talk about with N, but I might be wrong.
Re: BW 110 "'Friend'...His Name is N!"
I would love to see an interaction between Meowth and N:
"I can talk to Pokemon!"
"Well I'm a talking Pokemon!"
Re: BW 110 "'Friend'...His Name is N!"
Why do they insists in calling him "トモダチ"? It reminds me of a Japanese Movie/Comic LoL
20th Century Boys
That "ともだち" is weird as hell and wanted to destroy the world, lets hope this one is different :P
Re: BW 110 "'Friend'...His Name is N!"
What i want to know is,, at the end of this N epsiodes, will we get to see Ash adapting to N's views of pokemon or will N understand how Ash feels and approaches his pokemon....

Most likely the latter. Can't really have a Pokemon protagonist who doesn't challenge Gyms, catch Pokemon or enter Leagues now, can we?

How could Ash give up pokemon? The wallets of the pokemon franchise couldn't bear it!

Re: BW 110 "'Friend'...His Name is N!"
So they played a (roughly) five minute clip of this episode during this morning's New Year's special:
- N is seen looking around the P2 Lab. He stumbles across a computer with Genosect's image on it but isn't able to see much before the screen goes black. He wonders what in the world was going on there.
- Next we see Satoshi and the others on a boat. They pass by the P2 ruins and wonder what's there. Dent looks it up on his electronic map thingee and tells everyone that it used to be a building called the "P2 Lab."
- The boat stops (for refueling, maybe?) and N's at the harbor. He looks up at Satoshi and Pikachu for some reason and just sort of stares for a bit. Dent and Iris ask Satoshi if he knows this guy, but Satoshi says that this is the first time he's ever seen him. He wonders why he's looking at them like that.
- The Rocket trio, who are in disguise, spy on Satoshi and his friends.
- The boat takes off again. Iris (I think?) suggests they all let their pokemon get some exercise by letting them battle. Satoshi agrees, adding that it'll be good practice for when they arrive at "the new gym in Hiougi City." They all head to a battlefield on another part of the boat.
- Suddenly, N appears! Satoshi asks why he was looking at them earlier; N responds by saying that he could hear Pikachu's voice. He tells the group that he's able to hear his "friends'" voices, but Dent the Science Sommelier says that he finds that a bit hard to believe. Satoshi proudly boasts that he and his Pikachu are one, saying that if he looks at Pikachu and Pikachu's hungry, then he feels hungry too! Iris looks at her Kibago and tells it that all that means is that he's always hungry.
- The clip ends with everyone introducing themselves and Satoshi shaking N's hand.
The portion of the episode they showed used the same BW music we've been hearing for the past two years. There was one piece used in the P2 Lab scene that might have been new, but I'm not 100% sure.
