I think that "win" was Kotetsu thinking it was a 3 v 3 (Kotetsu's kinda dumb), and then Ash stops the match and explains it to him and so they carry on, at which point Kotetsu busts out Hydreigon and begins to wreck Ash's shit

The title does not suggest nearing, it is the end of the league, which ultimately means Ash lost. (If Ash wins against Kotetsu, there should be a long battle with Virgil, which is impossible to complete in 1 episode)
Whoever he lost to doesn't matter, it is still badly written

I refuse to believe this, and so I'm denying in in a way:
A) We've had titles in the past that hint towards tournament endings earlier than they have.
B) They might do a rushed 6-6 battle after They finish off Kotetsu.
C) Maybe Virgil has a Lucario?
D) It looked like we saw Ash winning earlier.
E) Maybe N breaks in?

If Ash loses to Kotetsu; it's going to be hard, even for Series N, to stop Best Wishes being the worst sage ever. AG and DP already have it beat, the OS will soon be better; better gym battles, better distribution of screentime and many etc!
The two scenarios are so bad that I really don't want to argue about which one is worse. But in my opinion, having the protagonist lose quickly without any explanation is the laziest kind of writing; even Ash vs. Tobias got a full episode. I'd much rather see Virgil demolish Kotetsu.
I bet that some people will continue to maintain that Ash can still win the league due to rushed battles.![]()

I have to agree, while I also detest Kotetsu being the one to take out Ash I'd hate it more if he lost in a quick match to Virgil and his Eevees.
Either way, I'm not happy with this, but then again the league has proven to be a major disappointment since the confirmation of Trip being 1 on 1 so why should I be surprised.

POKEMON BEST WISHES SEASON 2: Episode N
Those who want to talk about Episode N and how it'll be better than the League/redeem BW/etc. can do so here. :]
What is the source of this episode title?

OK.
Remember everyone, per the Anime Rules and Guidelines, "A source must be listed or the thread will be locked, while in the case of previews stating when the preview aired is needed."

Swing and miss. None of my predictions were right.#1: Virgil's Eevee evolves into a Gen 6 Eeveelution, and it proves to be Ash's downfall. Harrison's Blaziken 2: Eevee Boogaloo.
#2: The return of good ol' Trollbias.
#3: N crashes the League and wrecks him with Reshiram/Zekrom.
#4: Benga shows up with his Latios and Latias.
#5: Other.
Let's see how Ash loses this time around. When the League is over, I'm gonna come back and quote this post to mark which one happened.
Ash losing to Kotetsu and only making it to the top 8 has gone from "so bad it's hilarious" to "so bad it's horrible" in my book. Oh well, time for Episode N. It's clear the League was nothing more than speed bump on the way to it.
Is it not possible that after Episode N we have a proper rendition Pokemon World Tournament where Ash can use his reserves, and we get a REAL Trip battle? I mean, SOMETHING needs to come, as there are no signs of a new game just at the minute.

If Ash does lose Kotetsu, I hope latter rubs the former's nose in it.
"Thanks, Satoshi! If it weren't for you making sure I registered, I wouldn't have been able to participate in the League! Your kindness allowed me to win."
