No, it was in the original version, too. The dub cut out mention of his grandfather, though.

I think I'd be cool if he was Giovanni. Probably won't be though. it'll probably be some random guy.

It might be better if we just find out later if the guy had died or not rather than thinking of all of these ideas. I rather that than Giovanni or anyone that I couldn't see Delia with.

To be honest if Ash's father ever does make his appearance in the anime, then I'd like to see him pull off Kratos did in the game Tales of Symphonia.

Which since most people on here haven't played that game here's what I mean when I say that.

The game Tales of Symphonia begins off with a teen-aged sword wielder named Lloyd Irving. At the beginning of the game we are told that his mother, Anna, is dead and that he's living with a dwarf, who acts as Lloyd's foster father. So Lloyd goes on this journey with his friends, they come to a temple, get attacked, only to be saved by a mercenary named Kratos Aurion. Later on they return back to Lloyd's house, and Kratos is kneeling in front Anna's grave, looking like he finally knows something. As the story progresses, you discover just how Lloyd's mother was killed, and they mention she was killed by Lloyd's father. Lloyd still has no idea at the time that his mother's murder is actually standing right next to him. Kratos puts his hand on the hilt of his sword, looking angered, but hiding his true emotions. We also notice one thing, Kratos takes on Lloyd and trains him. Never pushing him harder then he would others. Later on Kratos betrays everyone. Even turning his back on Lloyd.

towards the end, Kratos comes back, and is revealed to be Lloyd's father.

No, not what I ment.

What I ment was they introduce a new traveling companion, or someone who they run into often, and have him reveal over time that Ash is his son.

So you'd want to see someone in their mid to late twenties (at least) traveling around with a bunch of ten year olds?

I always thought it would be cool if he ended up being the ultimate champion of, well, everything. Like, the single most powerful trainer and Ash's final obstacle to being the greatest Pokemon master.
