The Winter Awards 2013 RESULTS!!!

Hello Workshop!

Sorry for the delay with this, I know you have all been waiting eagerly since last month to find out who won, sitting on the edge of your seats, never eating, sleeping or bathing - you people disgust me, I can smell you through my hard drive! But the time has come, the time to announce something far more exciting than French set games, the possibilities of new types or the glorious returns of Mewtwo and Charizard to the anime!

It is time for the winners!!!

Firstly, I would like to extend a big thank you to everyone that assisted with judging. There were the usual moderators, but we also contacted old friends, got several volunteers and assisted the use of winners from the Christmas Competition to help things go smoothly! Thanks to the moderators for helping making my lifes easier, and a special mention must go to AetherX, who stepped in when we lost contact from one of our judges and got all of his work done in less than day to ensure that we could get it all done, so thank you very much to him from all of us! Judges will be listed below with each category, feel free to contact them if you would like extra feedback on your repsective works.

Now onto the prize winners! We had some amazing submissions this season, and they were all a joy to read. From the epic journey fics that spanned fifty plus chapters to one shots that were a brief but pleasurable read, there were some fantastic entries! We all enjoyed what we got to read, and the results ended up being very close for many categories. But without further stalling, here we go:

Congratulations to every single winner, they were all well deserved! Banners will be posted in the Hall of Fame soon (made amazingly by new moderator harryheart). I think these awards are signs of a new age of the Workshop: with so many more stories and chapters being posted, so many new members and so many old friends returning, the Workshop is born again, and I cannot wait to see what will happen next! There may be some changes with the next awards that stand to give recognition to a broader range of fics, but nothing is confirmed. Until then, keep up with our new Review Game and General Writing Questions to get your fics more attention, find some new ones and improve your writing! A brand new, very exciting, very tense game with rewards all round will launch very soon as well, so make sure you are all keeping an eye out for that!

This was certainly surprising ^^;; Did not expect to actually win, thank you!

And congrats to all the others!

I'm not really surprised I didn't win anything, but still, major congratulations to Kurloz Makara for taking the award for Best Dark Fic. Also, obviously, mad congratulations all the other winners, too. Thanks to these awards and their results, I'm inspired to keep writing, and I'd like to think I'm not the only one to feel that way.

Well I'm happy enough with winning best protagonist xD and I'd like to give my congrats to SystemError, he deserves it.

Also congrats Gotpika you also deserve it quite a lot : D

Wonderful, thanks greatly for the wins! I had hoped I might win in something, but FOUR categories? I would never have dared hope that; it's amazing.

It was not an easy task choosing the winners at all, but I'm proud of all the winners and nominees!

Well done everybody! The talent and hard work was obvious in all the fics, so even if you didn't win in a category you were nominated it's a great achievement to be there!!

Congratulations to everyone, and an especial congratulations to @apenpaap; for managing to win in four categories. I'll try to stop by and give your fic a read :-)

Also, I'd like to encourage everyone to try and get one of their stories posted, and for the others who don't write to try and read more. That way the next awards will have more nominations, which would raise the bar in the competition. I personally haven't nominated anyone for a while because I haven't been very active in reading our fellow Writer's Workshop users' stories. But I've already begun, and I'm planning on releasing a few stories of my own this spring.

I had a great time like always reading the fics I read. even if I kept up with the 2 did since last time but oh well I So congrats to everyone that won and also to everyone else for just being nominated, because it takes a good story to be nominated in the first place.

And a special congrats to Gotpika and apenpaap for winning Best story and Best Character respectively.

Very excellent point right here :) I think we all should try and read, review and write (the three 'R's' if you like :P) as much as possible to keep the forums alive! I have added links to highlight upon the winners so everyone can experience the award winning fics, but remember to read the other nominees work and every other story within the Workshop as well!
