@Karpi: it's actually kind of funny you mention that all I can say is that you should stay tune and you might get your wish.

@CyberPika: Well the thing that makes the fic different is the fact that they're in school most people don't bother in showing the school life of trainers plus it's an easier setting since I always know where I'm at.

    Sorry this took so long.

I quite enjoyed these last few chapters. The battle was good to read, and although that mini-arc was nothing groundbreaking, it was a good way to reintroduce us to the Academy and its various denizens. The newest chapter was awesome. It's good to see some lighthearted stuff, I actually laughed here and there. I've noticed humor is often avoided on this site, since everyone's sense of humor is so different, and no one wants to come across as cheesy, but this was well done. I especially liked the calligraphy club and "battly stuff." XD

    Looking forward to more.

    ... Sorry, I had to.

Anyways, (heheh) I'm getting a Freeza vibe from Sax, especially with that line, "Don't... be so cocky!" He's not exactly as polite as our favorite universal tyrant, though.

I'll give you a more in-depth review (well, I'll give you what actually amounts to a review) once I'm done with that latest chapter.

All right, then, wait no longer!

I'll start off by saying that I'm sorry I took so long. It took me a bit to start getting back into Pokémon fiction.

This is definitely an improvement over the first few chapters of the first one. Not gonna lie, I kinda saw Goodwin's betrayal coming from the first chapter (or was it the second?). It seems subtlety wasn't your specialty back then, but things are going a lot better now.

    For specifics:

Characters- I'm not gonna lie, I'm already missing Jordan, as it was good to see the story's events from a Normal's (even if he is Badass Normal) perspective, but it seems like you're going to be making up for it with Claudia and (perhaps) Matthew. I also love that you're trying to quit having Reggie depend so much on Chigon, and I can't wait to see some more action from Monferno and Pidgeotto in particular. I also like how you made Reggie himself lose to Sax and Tom; it makes him seem a lot less invincible and a lot more believable and relatable. I also like some of the new staff members. Seigfreed kinda reminds me of Wallace, ironically.

I'm hoping to see more from Fin and Jack (Adventure Time? lol), as well as, hopefully, a larger role in the plot for the girls this time around.

Plot- I really can't say much yet, as it's not really going anywhere yet. I really hope that huge tournament that was set up at the end of the last one doesn't start too quickly without much buildup, as that's something that's too big to come out of left field. I did like, as I said before, Reggie and Matthew's battle, as it was nice to see that Reggie's still got a way to go.

Grammar/Writing- Definitely improved and still improving, though I think that there are a few mistakes here and there that are still getting through.

Overall, I'd say that this is shaping up to outdo your first Academy outing and I'm itching for more.

Oh my god...I did a shotout to Adventure Time without even knowing it...I've been doing that a lot actually.

Anyway I'm glad you think this is better than the last fic and...well I can say that the tournament isn't going to come out as suddenly as it did in the first one.

Also I see that Matthew was well received...sadly I don't know if I should add him into the main cast yet I mean it took me some time to find a plotline for Claudia to follow but I still haven't been able to think of something for Matthew.

Also I didn't know that Jordan was so popular xD I originally took him out of this one because I thought he had done almost nothing in the last one and didn't think people'll notice...though just cause he doesn't appear at the beginning doesn't mean he won't appear *hint hint*

So this will be the last chapter of the year and with that I'd like to wish you all a happy new years!

Chapter 6: A Transferred Star and Reggie’s Jealousy

“Glalie, dodge it and counter with Blizzard!” Jack screamed at the top of his voice, trying to drown out the sound of the screaming spectators surrounding him. He quickly looked towards the Usaring that was fighting on the other side of the field. It was formidable indeed, commanded by a female Jolteon Thunder student just like Jack with short red colored hair that covered her ears and green eyes.

“Usaring use Protect, then attack him with Focus Blast!” the female Trainer’s Usaring gave out an ushering roar before it leapt away from the blast of icy wind that had been launched by Glalie. It then put its hands together and drew them back; forming a glowing blue sphere.

“Now Spin!” Jack threw his arm forward, signaling for Glalie to start spinning around while slicing through the air. It began gaining more speed and force.

Finally when the sphere of light was mere inches from Glalie it was absorbed in an instant as if it were a planet following the orbit of the sun. This caused the sphere to spin alongside Glalie; though the Pokémon kept a reasonable distance from the deadly orb. “What’s it doing?” the girl wondered uneasily.

“Preparing for the show,” Jack grinned. Glalie suddenly stopped, and the orbs inertia sent it rocketing into Ursaring's chest. The Hibernator Pokémon had time for a brief roar before the resulting explosion sent it careening into the ground. “Just because we’re in the same dorm doesn’t make us equals,” Jack smiled at the sight of the Ursaring lying on the floor.

The girl frowned with annoyance but let out a giggle as she walked over to shake Jack’s hand. “Okay, just make sure to look at the camera and smile!” Both Jack and the girl raised their eyebrows in confusion before turning around; only to encounter Valerie who was holding a camera in front of them. “Don’t worry, this is for the school newspaper. I want to take the best pictures, so say cheese,” Valerie grinned before holding her camera up and blinding Jack with the flash.

“Forgive her, she’s just a little bit eager,” Miko greeted, she then turned towards Jack and his now defeated opponent. “We want all the dirt. How did you feel when you fought? And what kind of ideas popped up into your head? O,h and is there some sort of secret romance between you two; I mean you are from the same dorm and you look really friendly.” Miko didn’t stop talking there though; in fact the waves of questions just kept coming, further confusing the two students.

“Hey Reggie, come here! You have to write all this down!” Miko exclaimed as she turned around to look at Reggie.

He was walking rather oddly as if trying to hide his face; which was fairly easy considering he was wearing a rather ostentatious brown hat that appeared to be from the previous century. “Miko, why do I have to do this?” Reggie muttered shyly before waving at Jack.

“Because you’re the writer. I report and you write what I report, it’s that simple,” Miko nodded her head confidently while crossing her arms.

“You know a writer doesn’t actually have to go with the reporter, right?” Reggie groaned with indifference.

“Yeah, but we do things differently. Just write down notes and you can write a detailed version when we get back to the club room,” she instructed. “You’re the one that promised Claudia that you’d make the Newspaper Club the best club there is so you have to work hard too.” She then turned towards Jack and the female student once more. “This will be our fifth article, so I hope you help us out.”

    ***

After they finished interviewing Jack and the other Jolteon Thunder student, Reggie, Miko, and Valerie headed back towards the Newspaper club room.

The club room was empty aside from the two other members of the group. Darren was working on the printing machine; which was still not functioning well enough for it to be of actual use.

Claudia was sitting in front of the desk and was reading some of the other notes that had been written for next day’s article. Being the editor of the group she was in charge of reading everything and deciding whether they could use the info or not. “You guys are getting better at this,” she smiled while adjusting her glasses and looking at the others.

“Thanks. We work hard, after all,” Valerie beamed and pumped her fist in the air.

“Work hard? You just take pictures and Miko only talks. I’m the one that has to write the thing,” Reggie frowned in annoyance before crossing his arms.

“Everyone does their part, so don’t whine,” Miko scolded as she walked over to Claudia and handed her the notes.

“Why the hell am I stuck with this job though?” Darren groaned; turning to look at Miko and the others as he tried to adjust the machine. “You told me I’d be writing about battles; that I can take. Instead you have me running errands. You know I hate it when people cheat me like this,” he grimaced.

“We need someone that can run and take care of the printer; at least you’re helping with something.” Valerie walked over to the table and pulled out a chair to sit down on. “So how’s the paper doing?”

“Well…considering its sudden return, people have actually picked one up here and there,” Claudia explained; putting the note she had been reading aside before she grabbed the one that Reggie had just written. “Unfortunately, we’re still too slow. People don’t really care about the details and they can basically get it from somewhere else. Unless we move fast with our articles then there’s just no way we can get better,” she sighed in frustration. “But I’m still glad you guys came to help.”

“We need a big scoop, though. Unless we do something that people just can’t find on their own we won’t get anywhere,” Miko pointed out, scratching her chin as she looked up at the roof in thought.

“I’ve actually got this piece of information we could use in our favor,” Claudia said with a raised hand, getting the others to look at her. “There’s a new student coming in tomorrow. I think you might know him. He’s Kevin Samuels.”

Upon hearing the name Miko and Valerie simultaneously leapt to their feet, dislodging their chairs with the exuberance of their reaction. “Kevin Samuels is coming here! I can’t believe it! I mean, I knew he was our age but I didn’t think he’d actually come here!” Valerie cheered.

“Yeah, I mean for someone with as much money as him one would think that he’ll go to Knight Academy or something of the sort,” Miko nodded her head as she and Valerie walked to Claudia.

“Who’s Kevin Samuels?” Both Darren and Reggie asked with raised eyebrows, though it was mostly due to the reaction the two girls were displaying.

Valerie and Miko turned around; their faces had been deprived of all emotion but shock as they stared at the boys in disbelief. “You don’t know who Kevin Samuels is?!? Kevin Roiner Samuels is one of the best young actors of the decade and is famous for starring in many successful movies.

Reggie's and Darren's expressions still displayed a lack of recognition.

The Strike of Night Shad? War of the Legends? What about Three Nights in Goldenrod?” Miko demanded.

“And so that Reggie might understand better... he was Blue in A Boy’s Journey,” Valerie stated. Reggie looked at the roof for a moment as if he was doubtful; however he soon let out a gasp of realization. “Exactly. He won an Academy Award that year for best Supporting Actor.”

“Well, he was good in that movie,” Reggie nodded his head in agreement.

“Still don’t have a clue,” Darren deadpanned, this time causing everyone in the room to look at him. “Hey, I’ve got more important things to do than watching movies and worrying about useless actors,” he groaned in response before turning back to the machine.

“Aside from that Kevin Samuels is the son of Solomon Samuels. He’s the owner of Lorstar INC. the company that’s leading currently in recent technological advancements,” Claudia explained as she finished reading the note and put it aside. “Around 30 years ago they were the ones that were in charge of developing the transporting system and worked alongside Bill Tech to install them around the regions. Following that, they created and manufactured many of the world's most advanced technologes...they even created the Academy Dex.

“So he’s a rich kid and a great actor. I can already see all the people piling up on the pier tomorrow,” Reggie pointed out; finally taking off his hat and putting it on the right desk.

“Yep, and we should be the first ones there,” Claudia stated with a serious look on her face. “If we’re able to get an interview with him we might get a chance to have a big article. I mean, this all came suddenly so it’ll be great if we can find out why he decided to come to this school and what he plans to do before gossip spreads,” she explained before getting up and handing the notes to Reggie. “All right, turn on the computer and get to writing this. We have to get it out quick,” she commanded.

“Yes ma’m,” Reggie nodded in response as he grabbed the notes and strode over to the computer that was at the corner of the room.

    ***

The next day Reggie, Miko, and Valerie had gathered inside the large crowd that was beginning to form around the pier. From what Reggie could detail, it was if something really big was going on; of course a movie star was probably something that people would get hyped about, but it was almost impossible for someone to move in the crowd. “Okay, who’s grabbing my ass!” Miko exclaimed before glaring at Reggie.

“Too many people…it wasn’t on purpose!” Reggie yelled in embarrassment; noticing that a boat was docking right in front of the pier. “Do you think that’s him?”

“Chi!” Reggie gasped as Chigon jumped right over his head and began flying over the crowd. Reggie and Miko both looked at each other in shock before they started charging through the crowd; not caring about anyone that they might knock over.

“Damn it, why is he always getting me in this kind of trouble!?” Reggie exclaimed before tripping over one of the spectators and hitting the concrete floor. “Ow…” he whined, feeling the pain from the crash beginning to take effect.

Sadly, the worst had occurred before Reggie was even able to stop it. As he looked up he noticed that Chigon was sitting on the shoulder of a tall teenager that seemed to be around 17 years of age; maybe even eighteen considering his height.

He had long blond hair that was combed well and to the back, allowing his clear and sparkling amber eyes to shine over everyone watching him. At the moment he was wearing a long sleeved white suit with a pair of white jeans to match, giving him a kind of sophisticated and rich look. “Chi.” Chigon jumped off from the teenager’s shoulder and landed on an embarrassed Reggie.

“I’m sorry…I mean, he just sort of flew!” Reggie scurried around in a flustered fashion to try and stand up from the floor.

“Don’t worry about it. This little guy is actually kind of interesting,” the teenager grinned; stretching his hand out towards Reggie. “My name’s Kevin Samuels and I hope we can get along,” he introduced, giving Reggie a confident and sly smile.

Just by looking at him Reggie could detail the differences between the two of them; he was also able to recognize his face from A Boy’s Journey, though he had gotten older. He just nodded his head, ignoring the gasps of disbelief coming from the crowd behind him as he stretched his hand back and shook Kevin’s hand. “You must be Reggie Damon?”

Now that made Reggie gasp. Someone as famous and rich as Kevin knowing his name was definitely not something he expected. . “How did you…”

“Last year, I was given a tape. The tape showed a video of the tournament you guys would be exhibiting by showing a battle between you and another student,” he answered; giving Reggie the answer he needed. He had made a video with Fin the year before to try and attract sponsors to the academy’s tournament; though they only managed to find two in the end.

“I wasn’t able to accept since I had a really busy schedule but I still tuned in when they showed the battles on TV, I was surprised by the sheer talent showed in that tournament so I decided that I should give this school a look.” Reggie just nodded his head on instinct; mostly because he was getting the interview he and his friends wanted in the first place so he was afraid that reminding Kevin of the fact that they were on a pier would distract him.

“Finally made it.” Reggie turned around, coming face to face with a panting Valerie and Miko who had managed to cross the large crowd. Both of them raised their heads, which instantly transformed the expressions on their faces.

“Hi…” they both said; their voices turning into a more robotic fashion.

“Well, hello there,” Kevin grinned slyly while looking at the two girls. “I see that you two girls had a lot of trouble. I’m talking to my friend right now but I can definitely…” he raised an eyebrow before looking up and down Miko’s body.

However, there was something else that popped into his mind. He noticed that Valerie was wearing a camera around her neck and Reggie was still picking up his hat and notepad. “I’m gonna take a wild guess and say that you came to interview me.” He hummed as he inspected the two. “I knew that this place had a Newspaper Club since I saw it on the curriculum, so I guess I should’ve expected this.”

He then turned back to Reggie and patted his shoulder. “So how about me, you, and your two friends go back to my yacht and have that interview,” he chuckled; pushing Reggie forward and causing him to stumble.

“Um, sure…” Reggie nodded insecurely, ignoring the sound of disappointment coming from the crowd.

“Don’t worry you guys. I’m going to be studying here so you’ll get to see me often,” Kevin laughed, giving the public a wave before he and the others walked into the boat. “Chester can you take care of the rest of the paperwork for me? I’m going to talk to someone,” he said towards one of the butlers inside the boat, who nodded before walking off.

“Wow…this place is big,” Miko gasped in disbelief. The size of the room they were standing on was big enough to pass off as a living room, it was even decorated with furniture and lamps that lit the room well and displayed it's evident elegance and beauty. “I’d give anything to be this rich.”

“It’s nothing, really,” Kevin shrugged. “Sit down please, I asked some of the maids to bring us some drinks.” The two girls looked at each other before nodding their heads in approval. Reggie, on the other, hand looked at Kevin. He was acting friendly and the fact that Chigon hadn’t reacted badly towards him showed that he wasn’t bad... but there was still something about him that Reggie couldn’t put his finger on. “Is something wrong, Reggie?”

“Uh…no, it’s nothing,” Reggie shook his head before sitting down in one of the couches. “So Miko…you’re the interviewer. I think you should do the honors,” Reggie proposed.

“Miko, huh? That’s a really cute name; it’s got a nice ring to it,” Kevin smiled warmly while Miko moved her chair closer to his; trying to hide atheslight blush that had appeared on her face. “So come at me. Ask anything you like; well anything except relationship stuff, I’d rather that people don’t find out those,” he said jokingly.

“Okay. Umm…first thing I’d like to know is why did you decide to come to Elemental Academy? I mean, there are more academies out there that you could join like Knight Academy, which is more for people of your caliber,” Miko stated with a bit of nervousness, she didn’t know how he would react to the questions/ If there was one thing she wanted to avoid, it was making someone like Kevin angry.

“That’s actually a pretty good question,” Kevin smiled while leaning back against his chair. “You see, after I watched the tournament videos from last year I couldn’t help but feel curious. Ever since I was a kid I was always treated like I was special and I guess I never really got to enjoy life in a school before,” he flicked his head while speaking with a fake tone of melancholy. “I figured that if I went to Knight Academy I’ll just be surrounded by people who are like me instead of knowing what’s on the other side of the fence…”

That comment actually bothered Reggie a little. What did he mean by “on the other side of the fence?” If he didn’t want to be treated different then he could’ve picked a better word of reference. “I see,” Miko nodded her head with full attention. “So what do you expect from this school?”

“Well I’m sure I’ll be able to enjoy myself; this school seems to be really fun,” Kevin smiled cheerfully. “I just got here and I already met a species of Pokémon that hasn’t been seen before and one of the cutest girls in my life.” The last part was something that caught Reggie off guard; especially when he noticed the look he was giving Miko and the blush that had become noticeable on her face.

He clenched his pencil lightly along with the notepad. Why was he feeling so much apathy all of a sudden? Was it because of how he spoke to Miko? If so, then what….

“You know, you could stay here for a while. There are a lot of things we can talk about while your friends go back to their clubroom,” Kevin’s expression and tone of voice was starting to turn into a more charming style and it was clear that he was trying to get Miko to really pay attention to him.

Valerie shifted her head towards Reggie. She walked over to him and grabbed his hand, giving him an understanding look that showed to just what extent she knew how he was feeling... even if he had yet to realize it.

“Actually, we should get going.” Reggie spoke against Valerie’s signals, causing Kevin and Miko to turn to look at him. “I’m gonna need you to help me out with some homework today Miko. I didn’t understand what we saw in Biology today,” Reggie shook his head; proceeding to get up and put on his hat.

“Well, I guess if it’s that important I understand,” Kevin nodded his head in agreement before getting up from his chair. “I guess we’ll just have to do this some other time,” he grinned over at Miko, who scurried in her seat to gather her stuff and get up.

“Yeah, I'd like that,” Miko scratched the back of her head nervously. She finally reacted and walked over to the door so that she could walk out alongside Valerie.

“Let’s go Chigon.” Chigon nodded its head, he didn’t seem to understand why they were leaving so suddenly but he knew that it couldn’t go against Reggie.

“You sure picked a nice time to react huh, Reggie?” Reggie quickly turned around; only to stare at Kevin’s back as he looked at a painting on the wall. “That girl, Miko. She’s a real cutie.” He turned around, flashing Reggie with a sly, yet knowing smile. “I might even go for her. There’s no one in her life, is there?”

Reggie didn’t reply. He didn’t know what to say as he looked at the actor. When he met him he had thought of Kevin as a heroic figure, who wouldn’t? He was a star actor and behaved like a really good guy; no one would’ve guessed what was underneath all that, though. He stuttered silently before finally answering.

“….no….no, there isn’t anyone.” He practically had to force the words out of his mouth, something that was making him feel as if he had been put on an interrogation.

“Excuse me, I didn’t hear you.” Kevin cupped his hands around his left ear and moved it towards Reggie.

“There’s no one with her at the moment,” Reggie replied in a louder tone which was also a lot more irritated. “Go for it if you want.”

“All right, then. See you in class, buddy,” he gave him a cheerful smile and a wave; signaling for Reggie to leave.

    ***

“You look bothered.” Reggie raised his head, realizing that he had been unconsciously draped over the keyboard for some time now. Consequently, a wide variety of unpronounceable words were present on the screen.

“Is something the matter? I told you that you could leave like ten minutes ago,” Claudia pointed out as she looked down at Reggie with a concerned expression.

“Yeah, I’m okay…it’s just some things,” Reggie muttered quietly; rubbing the back of his head to try and adjust his neck once more. “I guess I was a little tired is all…I’ll just finish this article and leave.”

“I can finish it if you want, I’ve done some writing work as well,” Claudia suggested, she gave Reggie a caring smile and helped him up. “If there’s something that’s bothering you then you can tell me if you want,” she stated.

“No, it’s okay. I’ve already slacked off too much anyway.” Reggie turned to the table, where Chigon was lying down and taking a short nap. “I’m sure that tomorrow’s article will be at least a little better. We only got one question down from him but that’s something…” he trailed off; picking up Chigon from the floor before turning towards the door.

“Oh…okay,” Claudia nodded her head in agreement. “And don’t worry Reg, I’m sure things will work out.”

“Yeah,” Reggie nodded his head and proceeded to walk out.

    ***

Brendan Birch stared at the wall of the principal’s room while leaning back against his chair. He looked towards the desk, scanning the map that was before him. “I think I know where we could go,” Brendan grinned to himself before grabbing a pin and placing it down. “A field trip is sure to work out in this situation.”

    Dang, love interest!
    OK, posting review for 4-6.
I'm seeing a lot of new characters coming in, which I guess should be expected. I presume Claudia and Kevin will become a lot more important later on.
Looking at plot...well, chapter 6 of a fic like this, no way to really tell. Yet, despite this, I have to say I'm interested in the direction this is going, particularly considering the prologue. It's certainly interesting, and I want to see how Kevin plays into this.
Overall, I'd say that introducing Kevin was a really great move, and it could play out excellently! :).
Characterization: I'm really interested in both Kevin and the newspaper here. It looks like both will have a huge influence on Reggie, Kevin, for obvious reasons, and the newspaper, because he's (again) helping people who are in trouble. It's a defining part of his character and certainly very interesting.

Chapter overall: This chapter was definitely interesting, and I really can't wait to see what happens with Kevin in the future!

Yeah Kevin's going to play his part.

Actually there's a hint for those that want to know what's going to be the plot of Second Year Rhapsody but it's in the epilogue of Dragon's Roar though it is also mentioned in the prologue.

On another note the names of the movies Valerie mentioned were all ideas that I discarded for fics Strike of Night Shade is a love story about Morty and Sabrina, War of the Legends is an OC fic in which the legendaries were supposed to go haywire, I can't remember what Three Nights in Goldenrod were about but a Boy's Journey is...obviously Red's journey though in the fic the movie is actually an adaptation of Red's journey.

This was a really good chapter! Especially for character development!
I really like that Milo showed his feelings for Miko...
I see some drama about to unfold in that area!

and Kevin Samuels! OH I could probably go on about him for sometime!
I mean COME THE HELL ON! you don’t want your soon to be peers to look at your differently yet you arrive in a fancy white suit and on a yacht none the less!
and he just OOZES arrogance! He thinks he so much better then the other kids! “on the other side of the fence?” REALLY!? goodness someone has a superiority complex!
He definitely needs get a good ass beating so that snotty smirk can be wiped off his face!

Now that was bloody brilliant! I really like that use your creativity in pokemon battles! Major Kudos to you for thinking this up!

All in all a major improvement, definitely much less spelling and grammar mistakes also :)
    Very good!
Looking forward to reading the next Chapter!

That was the point actually Kevin's meant to be Reggie's foil he's confident, sure of himself, not afraid of doing what he wants and likes to show off but he's also good with people and knows what to do to get them on his good side.

    Hey there,
I have to say, I love this fic.
I readed the original dragons roar to but I just didn't have an account.

p.s. There is somthing wrong in the atlas. It says Fin has a Marstomp while it's supposed to be Swamperd. I'm just pointing it out.

Keep up the good work dude.
