What? Long grass/Snow can also shake for Audinos?
I went all the way back to Driftveil to train for Brycen...
the first one i can remember is getting stuck in the lighthouse on SoulSilver. i just could not figure out how to get of that floor where you have to fall out the window. eventually i ran in to it, fell out, and yelled OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.........................
then the utterly annoying Ice cave. SS was the first game i got, and i had beaten Black, Pearl, and Diamond before i cam up with what i called plan ICE (Ice Cave Escape). yeah, i head desk about it all the time.
Then Victory Road in SS. i had just found Bulbapedia, but not the walkthroughs. it took me a couple billion more Restarts to get through.
(for some odd reason all these moments have to do with SS......)
Most of these happened when I was a kid, so...
R/B: I was playing through and found Articuno. My brilliant self decided, "HEY, LET'S MASTERBALL THAT THING." Imagine the frustration when I accidentally found Mewtwo later in the game.
I was a genius and thought having Bulbasaur and a Nidoran (I think it was female) on the same team was the best thing ever. Clearly I had no idea that Bulbasaur was part Poison as well.
I think (I don't quite remember, so don't take my word on this) that I tried to solo Lance with Venusaur at one point. Yeah, bad idea there.
G/S: For some reason, I had no clue that Dark was weak to Fighting, so I kept losing to Karen's Umbreon. I got so frustrated that I never actually bothered finishing Gold. Later, I got Silver, and then I figured it out and beat the game.
R/S: WHAT DO YOU MEAN TATE'S A BOY
another thing: i used to always name Sliver Paserby. i thought that was his name, i mean, it calls him Passerby Boy so i thought that was his name!
ohh the time I trained my Charizard like no tomorrow in Fire Red thinking it would learn Blast Burn... I ended up with a level 97 Charizard by the 5th gym...It was level 65 by the 3rd...
I CHOOSE YOU! MISSINGNO.!!!!!!!
That you could cut down tall grass
you can cut tall grass?
(add that to the list)
Thought forever that Rare Candies raised your exp bar to the same percentage on the next level, never payed attention. Didn't realize it set it to 0% on the next level. I finally noticed when I used it on my lvl 86 Alakazam on Emerald who was at about 90% exp for the level.
I never knew about the difference between physical and special attacks. It took me until Black/White to figure it out when my Darmanitan killed with fire punch, but couldn't do anything with flamethrower.
Nearly everything that isn't "Select and talk with A and move with the D-Pad" is this.
Seriously, when I first played, I didn't know how to use HMs! I never thought of talking to the rock or selecting it from the Pokémon selection screen. Oh, and when I first played Diamond, I didn't care for the cutscenes and barely knew anything about english, so I didn't understand why Dawn didn't let me pass until, like, a week later, when my Chimchar was already a Monferno. Oh, and I didn't know you were supposed to train more than one Pokémon, nor that moves had different powers and stuff. So I pretty much tried to kill everything with my Level 81 Luxray and his Charge Beam.
...I was such a noob back then...
When I was playing Platinum, I didn't realise HMs weren't able to be forgotten. So my Monferno knew two HM moves - Rock Smash and Cut. I had the hardest time because of that...
Also I didn't remember you were suppose to get the Orbs and talk to the elders in Celestic Town to encounter Dialga and Palkia. I had the orbs but forgot to talk to the elders... so it ended up me going to the Spear Pillar and searching for six months. Finally I asked my friend for help and they pointed it out.
I got really frustrated but at least that problem was solved.
Don't you think this is going really far?
Okay, I'm sure you'll all get a laugh out of this one. I got Diamond, my first pokemon game, when I was 11. I spent 1 HOUR trapped in my room until I realised that those yellow things in the right corner were the stairs.
