That the power of Pokemon moves weren't based off of the coolness of their names. For example, "bullet seed" is not as good as, say, "Extrasensory" but I never figured that out when I first started.

You have to pay to take your pokemon back from the daycare, and the payment increases as they level. This was never a big deal until Pearl, where I stuck a level 1 ditto in the daycare and left it there for breeding purposes. It's now level 100.

"Would you like to take back the other one, too? It's gained 99 levels."

You can't have a level one Ditto without cheating. And paying 9900 isn't really a big problem, you can earn that much with just beating a few trainers with VS. Seeker.

I had mastered my gameshark with red version, and I LOVED the float code -- I knew it by heart. I floated everywhere and did everything. "Oh, I'm going to float over Mt. Moon! Hey, look at me, floating from Fuchsia to Pallet town!"

Eight badges. 151 Pokemon. A shiny diploma. And what do I do?

I float to Bill's backyard...and save.

I assumed he had a backdoor. I yelled "LET ME IN!" for 45 minutes before I gave up and had to start a new game.

But I was sure that Groudon was Fire/Ground for about 6 years, not really a stupid thing to think, since Kyogre was Water.

I also thought you had to select "toss" in the bag to use a Poke Ball. :P

I was recently playing Ruby, and had completed the Scanner mission. Honestly, by this point , I was ready to face the Elite Four, so you'd think I would be able to figure the next part out.

I spent the better part of a weekend searching for Cpt. Stern, search EVERYWHERE. I went from Slateport to just about everywhere you could imagine... From Dewford to Fortree, even checking the ferry terminal in Lilycove.

Man, I felt so stupid when I realized he had been in Slateport's terminal all along.

Hmmm Tackle has 35 PP and Slash only has 20 PP. I guess I should keep tackle so that I don't run out of PP at a bad time!

Also training a Haunter then Gengar to beat Blue's Alakazam because the type chart TOTALLY says that ghost beats psychic! Probably wasted days on that fool's errand before saying to hell with it and focusing on my Articuno.

The electric part in Volkner's gym right before you face him is just for show and is not a barrier. I had no clue what to do and my cousin randomly solved it.

You had to jump over a hedge to activate the floating, and Bill's backyard was a 2x4 square of nothing.

It took me the longest time to figure out that the slot machines actually played games, instead of there just being the coin exchange.

You lucky, in the European version of Platunum they you can't even play then cause of the EU's anti-gambling laws for Under 18's. Their reasoning is that most people who play the Pokemon games are under 18, so they just get rid of anything for adults. Its crap though, i have to go to the Casino to play the slot machines now :(

My first time through Blue Version took forever! I restarted the game cuz I had no clue what to do after obtaining HM01 on the S.S. Anne! I after playing up to that point twice without figuring out what to do next, I finally found the tree next to Curelean City and made my way to the rock tunnel! Another thing that got me stuck was the part when you have to talk to the Rocket grunt by the poster in the back of the Game Corner. I never thought to talk to him so I couldn't invade the Rocket Hideout and progress in my game! Shitonastick! Good times...

Took me months to beat the game the first time... Now adays... Diamond took me less than a week...

I remember how shocked I was when I found where the HM03 Fly HM was! little bugger was hiding in that little house above the cycling road! TRAVELING BECAME ALOT EASIER AFTER THAT.

I wish they would make the Black and White games a bit more difficult to beat than DPP. I wish it were challenging enough to last atleast a month... Cynthia straight gives you HM01 for doing NOTHING, Some dude gives you Rocksmash for NOTHING, They just made everything to darn easy.

A couple weeks ago my friend looked me in the eyes and swore that Palkia was a Psychic/Dragon type. I looked him dead and the eyes and laughed... "dude, it's a Water Dragon". He was like, "that's retarted there is no way in hell that thing is a Water Dragon". He texted me when he got home, in disbelief.

my worst was when i was about 6 and i had FR. my friend had told me that pokemon evolve while in the pc. 6 months later: HURRY UP AND EVOLVE YOU DUMB WEEDLE. and i was still in pewter, didnt wanna leave till weedle evolved.
