Thread: The UGLIEST Pokemon sprites?

I also noticed that the Sneasel sprite for G/S is differently colored than the Sugimori art.

Yeah, it is rather odd. Dunno about Sugimori art but I remember in Stadium 2 it had pink feather, rather than green. And was a rather grayish colour than brown.

An odd sprite that one. Even if they had only two colours to use, it is curious why they chose those two.

I didn't like a lot of the sprites for the 4th gen Pokemon... Quite a lot of the Pokemon I thought were kind of ugly until I got a look at their art.

I really like a lot of the new 1st-3rd Gen sprites and I had the same problem with some of the 3rd Gen sprites when R/S first came out though, so I'm attributing the problem to them being new designs.

Though if you want a specific sprite out of those, probably Glion. I love the design, but I hate it's sprite.

Another thing. The R/B Golbat sprite has a giant tongue, which is absent from later sprites. Pretty grotesque.

People have been criticizing the Green sprites excessively lately, so as a proud player of the game, I'll try to rectify this.
Most of them look fine, like Pidgeot here:


Many are faithful to their Sugimori art, too; much more than their english pictures.


Fine, some of them are oddly proportioned...


But at least they beat these R/B mutants!

So stop complaining about Green when R/B has many problems also.

I liked the original Gyardos and the Gyardos from gold/silver.

OMG the japanese green Alakazam is FUXXED up!

this is kadabra's sprites, take a look at r/b version, its like alakazam with one spoon

I like how Abra is always rare to find.

Thank goodness for the new games! The Gyarados above looks like the D/P sprite.

Red/Blue Dratini

OMG why?

Red and blue Exeggutor it looks its had super strength muscle relaxant its bent over and its faces are really droopy.

Dragonair looks angry...
