On Platinum, I'm having a hard time choosing between a Froslass or a Glaceon for my team (in-game, not competitive). I really love the looks of both. I've used a Froslass before and loved it, but I've never tried Glaceon. Glaceon has 50 points better Special Attack, which is amazing. Rapidash: Flamethrower, Flare Blitz, Poison Jab, Strength
Togekiss: Aura Sphere, Air Slash, Psychic, Fly
Porygon-Z: Tri Attack, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Dark Pulse

Glaceon's Special Attack would definitely beat out STAB. Also, Ice Beam would pair well with your Rapidash's moveset. You have two Pokemon that know Psychic, so that should hold off the Fighting types. Your Porygon-Z has a good moveset that would match well with a STAB Ice Beam with a great Special Attack stat, and the combination of Ice and Electric, offensively, has almost no weakness.

Can you mix records between games of different languages? I've just mixed records between my English and Japanese Emerald versions, and nothing seems to have changed (i.e. the Trendy Phrase in Dewford or the Pokemon centre men).

Why isn't Drifloon appearing on Platinum? It's a Friday and it won't appear.. I restarted my Platinum and beat Team Galactic about a week ago and I was looking forward to today. Today is when Drifloon appears which is my flying member of the team but it won't appear! I tried around 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. WHAT'S IS GOING ON? (Btw played on a 3ds with the correct date)

Hello! I bought Pokemon Diamond a few days ago, I would like to learn any basic knowledge that I should have before going on, such as a pokemon I might not want to miss from the beginning, any "one time" events and stuff like that. Not any major spoilers, just simple things to have in mind. I just defeated the first gym leader. So far I have a Kadabra, Monferno, Machop, Starly, Bidoof (I heard it's a good pokemon to teach HM's) and a Luxio. The last Pokemon game I played was Emerald and that was over 5 years ago, so I'm pretty rusty with the whole game mechanics, weaknesses, stats, breeding, etc. Thanks!

And a question I have right now: I went to the global trading thing in Jubilife city (I think that's what it's called) and I learned about the two ways you can get a pokemon, by searching for it to see if anyone offers it in exchange for a specific pokemon, or requesting one and offering another in return, I selected the "search" option, but I can only see a few of the pokemon that I've seen so far (not even all of the ones I´ve seen). So basically my question is: Will there be a point in the game when I can request for any pokemon? And can I only ask for the ones that are catchable in the wild in the diamond version?

You need to have seen a Pokemon before it can be requested, the more you've seen, the more you can search for, but you wont be able to search anything you havent seen no matter what part of the game you are at.

On the flip side, you can ask for any pokemon in our GTS forums and set up trades there with other users.

I´m back! As I was battling the fourth gym leader I realized that soon I will be getting the HM fly (according to what people in that town said) and I guess I'm giving it to my Staravia, so far Bibarel has the HM's Cut, Strenght and Rock Slide, however I don't want to spread all the HM´s that I will receive in the future. What's the best combination to have for HM's? I´m guessing Bibarel (since it can learn up to four) and some other pokemon, but any combination of pokemon available to the point of the game that I´m in will be appreciated, again I´m on Pokemon DIamond. Thanks!

I think the HM moves that are required to advance through the story in DPPt are Surf, Rock Smash, Rock Climb, Strength, and Waterfall.

I always put Rock Smash, Rock Climb, and Strength on an Onix, Surf and Waterfall on the water-type member of my team, and Fly on the flying-type member of my team. The only downside was that I had to switch out one of my main team for Onix in some of the later parts of the game, such as Victory Road.

I'm playing Fire Red, and I have a couple questions:

1. My Vileplume's moveset is Petal Dance, Acid, Sleep Powder, and Moonlight. Should I replace one of these with Giga Drain? I'm leaning towards replacing Petal Dance, since it's special attack stat is higher than it's attack stat, but I want a second opinion. This is just for in-game, not competitive.

2. Right now my party is at level 51. I've been rematching four trainers, two with Machop and Machoke, and a duo with Machoke and Primeape, all around level 38. I noticed that they yield more experience points than the wild Pokemon in Victory Road (one of which is Machoke), which are around level 46. For example, a wild Machoke at level 46 only yields around 900 EXP, while a trainer's level 38 Machoke yields around 1100 EXP. Why is this? Do trained Pokemon yield more experience points than wild Pokemon?

This is really urgent so... yeah.
