Oh God, I remember that.
I'm still terrified of the Rollout move. Whenever I see it get used against me, I just switch out to the strongest Pokémon I have and blast it down with a vengeance.

Back in original silver days; I was...like a punching bag down there.
But then; my last poké (after lots of tricks and stalls from me) I made it.
...It. Was. A. Lucky. Critical. Hit.
Oh sweet lord how I praised you back then.
Then I made it to her at gen IV...And hooooly mother of Arceus!
She had new trick on her.
Attract, Rollout and a Stomp that ALWAYS flinched my Poke...
Ffffffffff...And then she healed herself...!
Ok...Since the first time I've restarted more than enough and she's still the hardest obstacle in the game.

Yeah, it allows Miltank to use Normal-type and Fighting-type moves against any Ghost-type.

X-items are useful in certain situations.
Then again, I rarely use them as it is.

That Miltank certainly kicked my butt more than once. Every fighting type move I used did rarely anything. Thank goodness for critical hits.

wait. Whitney... HARD in the remake? whitney was a huge pain in gen 2 cuz i always picked Cyndaquil. the remake, Miltank never uses rollout on me, maybe once or twice. now stomp, THAT'S annoying, but not as bad as rollout in gen 2

I can remember a rather cheap, yet pretty effective way of defeating Whitney was simply to use a Geodude/Graveler with Selfdestruct. Heck, Geodude could ravage the 3 first gyms alone (then getting rather useless of course), considering Rock Throw vs Flying/Bug, and then just being a troll and blowing up in the face of Miltank.
I can't remember how I defeated her in the latest playthrough on HG, but I can't remember it being that difficult. I'm more annoyed at Morty's Gengar and Hypnosis actually.

Miltank irritated the crap out of me on SS because most of my team was male and they all got infatuated in one hit, especially my Riolu. In the end I had to rely on Budew, my only female pokemon, and the only damaging move it knew was Giga Drain. At least I beat her the first time, but it took a while.

Whitney is the only gym leader I think I ever had any major issues with. Her Miltank was insane. D: She was a lot easier in HG/SS though.

This piece of meat made my blood boil as a kid. To this day I have yet to beat Miltank the first try. This thing is the reason I have a five life clause on my Nuzlocke. When I stomp this thing with some combos, I will have my revenge.
When I finally beat it every time, I let my game rest and do a victory dance. No mon gives me as big of an issue in game as this thing.

Iiii'm actually replaying Silver atm; had Gastly use Hypnosis and then use Curse (. .)
But yeah, still lost once coz I thought it was a Normal-type move and assumed ol' Gas had all the time in the world.

I surely had a hard time during my first encounter with her in Gold more than 10 years ago... I didn't evolve Totodile to learn hydro pump faster and I didn't know I could learn headbutt at that time (I was playing a Japanese version and couldn't understand a thing most of the time...), so scratch, bite and water gun didn't work all that well.
Later on when I played Crystal I always chose a female Chikorita and it became much easier.
In the remakes, I had already caught a Heracross and learnt brick break when fighting Miltank.
Travel the world, taste great food, till we are old.

My Quilava failed so many times, eventually I went "Screw this!" and trained a Nidorina to fight it.
