Thread: R/S/E Drought music = R/B/G Lavender Town music?

I was playing Ruby and got to the part where Maxie awakens Groudon. While Groudon's drought is in effect some really creepy music plays that is strangely similar to the Lavender Town tune. Why would Gamefreak make a song so alike the Laventer tune after the "Lavender town gives kids seizures and makes them kill themselves" thing?
This really mindfucked me...

Not really, no. There is a few similarities, but most of the other tunes are similar to each other.

Since this is specifically about music from the games, I'm going to move this to the Older Games section.

Hmm, they're both rather creepy and have those high-pitched notes, so I see what you're getting at. Maybe it's a nod to the old game, or something.

Yes. I was stuck on the drought in Ruby for a month or so, so the music was burned into my ears. Then my friend lent me his Yellow and when I got to Lavender Town I was pissed off because it was so similar and I thought I was rid of the drought music. >8(

Eh, not really -- I think that both of them are kind of creepy, but I'm not really seeing any analogue between the two.

dude i was too young to play 1st gen im 15 and thats the first time ive heard the lavender theme music... im sweating my ass off right now... the R/S/E dought theme dosent even close to compare... it was the most realxing shit ever after the lavender theme

I'm 15 too and never played the old blue/red, I've just seen the Lavender Tune on YouTube after reading too many creepypastas about it.

well, the 2 themes are in no way similar... at least to me

Because the Lavender music itself wasn't what gave the kids seizures; it was the fact that binaural tones inadvertently appeared in the music of the original Red/Green versions (and were subsequently taken out of later editions).

I can't honestly say they sound THAT similar.

There both creepy in there own way but I dont find them that similar.

I hear it. Mostly, it's the background of the Lavender tune.

Its basically the background music but higher pitched.
