Thread: Question about my Chingling.

Hello, I'm new to the forums; I've been a lurker for a while but questions haven't much come up until now. :)

I caught a Chingling a while ago, and now it's level 28. I wanted it to learn Psywave before I took on Maylene (I'm playing Pearl), but to do that (at least according to Bulbapedia) it has to evolve into Chimecho, then it will learn the move at level 30.

It says that Chingling evolves at night when it's happiness has peaked. Well... it's nighttime. And my impression was that a Pokemon loves you when there are two hearts shown when you tap in on the friendship checker. My Chingling has two hearts.

I went to go level it up to 29, assuming that once I did that it would evolve into Chimecho. Did it? Nope. o_O

Does anybody know why Chingling won't evolve? Any help is appreciated. ^_^

Psywave isn't super effective against Fighting-Types, FYI. And I'd advise getting massages at Veilstone to raise happiness.

The hearts need to get larger for it to to be maxed out in Happiness. Try Anger's suggestion.

Ugh. It doesn't? I knew it had something to do with the Pokemon's level, but not that the usual advantages wouldn't apply.
