    Part 52: Something Not Cool
That I'll give you, but I don't think that the fact the leader of Dim Sun has that rank really means anything. Keep in mind I still don't know what his name actually is, and the one time I ventured a guess I spoilered it.

Yeah, I guess that's true. Maybe I'm just one to draw conclusions from things like that. If the guide is anything like the game, then...

I just noticed something odd in the book.

"Team Dim Sun President: ???? ????"

Unless he has an alias, those question marks probably indicate the name is two four-letter words (am guessing the first is likely "boss") so, again discounting an alias, it CAN'T be who I thought.

I thought I had once seen the name "Master Mirakado" attributed to the boss, but that is actually Kincaid, so it's a false lead.

    EDIT: Hold the phone.

Just because it's "???? ????" doesn't mean it's four characters in each part. This isn't hangman or Wheel of Fortune. >_>

    Part 68: Four, not Three!

    Part 69: Going Down!

Probably the only reason I thought it was because they made a point to put a dot to separate the first four from the second four, otherwise I'd never noticed.

    It's irrelevant anyway...

Cool, SystemError. It really makes me want to play the game.

Ranger 2 sure has its unique "climate". A plot-focused game is sure a rare thing for a Pokemon game. Gotta love Ranger series!

Yeah. Like I mentioned in one of the updates (and I believe another post), what I like about Ranger is that it's actually enjoyable to play. Probably the only recent Pokemon spin-off that interests me. One thought I had is them making a Ranger game in a sandbox style reminsicent of Grand Theft Auto and the like. Minus the shooting of random citizens and whatnot - I'm more referring to the non-linearity that still keeps an ultimate sense of direction. With missions from different clients and whatnot. It could work really well with this style.

...and finally, I can start another post without double-posting/joke-posting on an alt. That post was getting too big for its own good! >_>

    Part 93: Coming In

Part 94: Guess the Password, Win a Free iPod!

Part 95: Say, Wasn't this Place Supposed to be Given a Different Name in a Contest or Something?

Agreed. My favorite part of Ranger was after all the missions were complete, when I was just exploring Fiore with the help of wild Pokemon. With the increased number of field moves, I'm hoping this sort of thing will be even more fun in Shadows of Almia.

Another thing I'd like is if they did it in Metrovania style (bear with me here). You explore a path, reach a dead end. You explore another path, and find a Pokemon who can get you around that dead end. Keep going, and you'll find another Pokemon to get you around another dead end elsewhere in the game. It'd be kind of awkward, since you lose the Pokemon after using them once, but it's an interesting concept, at least.

I have to admit I'm not surprised at the identity of Team Dim Sun's boss. That said, his rise to power provides an interesting and unique backstory, so color me impressed.

Ehh, I thought his backstory was kind of weak. How exactly he acquired the company isn't touched on. It might be later, though. We'll see!

Well, there IS a mysterious issue of the Almia Times that isn't revealed in the book. Probably because it breaks the news about him.

More than likely. At the Almia Times, you can read back issues in sets of two, and I think there are seven bookcases. Just enough for 14 issues, and we're at 13 so far.

I believe the correct term is "Castleroid" :P And yes, you're right - it could work. Except maybe make the partner system more complex to remove all the backtracking you mentioned...
