Thread: Pokemon Fire Red/ Leaf Green Speed Running Challenge

First gym badge, gotten at 0:20. Used with LeafGreen.

EDIT: 0:16 to beat Brock. Can't believe I actually managed that! I only battled two bug catchers, the camper, and Brock XD Might start over tomorrow to see if I can do it faster.

EDIT 2: Oh, and it's with FireRed.

I just put in a 0:15. I'll probably run it again though because I made a mistake upon leveling up at the end.

What kinds of strategies are people running?

I'm just battling as few trainers as I can and seeing if that's enough to win. I'm going to try again to see if I can beat the 0:15.

Who have we been picking as a starter? I used Squirtle.

I picked Bulbasaur. Best choice to beat the first few gyms easily.

Second run, 0:15, might attempt a third run using a different strategy. That battle with the camper in Brock's gym took a minute or two longer than usual because Bulbasaur was Lv. 9, and I had to beat his Geodude using Leech Seed+Tackle. If I battle a third bug catcher then I can skip the camper, but I wonder which way will be faster?



EDIT: The Japanese version doesn't seem to be any faster than the English one. I was hoping the Japanese letters would shorten the dialogue XD But no, I got 0:16. On the up side, I learned about 5 words XD

lol nice one. I'm hoping to beat Misty with Mega Punch and then Surge with Dig.

I might have to quit, because the laptop I'm using has a charger problem and the battery died. I'm using an iPad right now, and thus, I can't really play right now. I can use a desktop, though.

Are we allowed to turn off battle animations to make the time faster.

Also, another question - if we record and upload to youtube, do we start recording after we done our name and stuff?

You can start recording at whatever time but the actual time of the run begins after you turn small.
