Thread: Older Games Trainer's Travelog

I'm currently working on Crystal, though after Journey Across America I'll probably try to play Pokemon Yellow and work up from there until I get LG or something, then these newest games. :D

As for my team on Crystal:

I'm currently working on my Fire Red team, and getting them ready for the Journey Across America tournament. ^^

I'm trying my best to level them up to 100 (it's recommended in the rules that you do that). And I found out that the best way to to do that is to just battle the Elite Four lots and lots of times. XD

Anyway, here's the Pokemon in my party:

Hey, you wouldn't happen to know if they allow one to enter the tourney with Pokemon Crystal, would ya? XD Because that's all I have that has a decent team on it. ;-;

Although, I'm sorry to say, but unfortunately this tournament is only for the following games: Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, and Leaf Green.

And the reason for that is because all of the tournament matches are played out using Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, and the Gamecube to GBA link cable. Also, all of the matches are double battles.


Of course, just because the official JAA tournament isn't for Pokemon Crystal, that doesn't mean that there won't be people bringing their Gold, Silver, or Crystal games their to trade and battle just for fun. You might find a few people there with the older games and stuff.

Dammit.....aww well, I think they closed registration for Chicago anyway, so I'm outta luck. XD I think I'll probably keep leveling up my babies in Crystal, even if I can't be in the tournament. Always next time. :D

What I'm really wondering about is the pokemon downloads. If those are for Ruby/Sapphire, etc only, I'm going to end up bringing both my games, regardless of having a sucky team on R right now.

As for my team, I restarted some of them. I have a new Beedrill, a new Pikachu, and a new Dratini. I forget whether or not I used rare candies on them, so I am leveling up new ones. XD;;

is it possible to raise your pokemon's level farther than lvl 100? just wondering...

I am playing Pokémon Yellow! I just started a new file, and I made okay progress. I haven't fought rival yet and still in viridian city, so not much to report, but my team is looking promising!
