Pokemon Card DS presumably wouldn't be a remake, but a sequel with about a 1000 or so (I believe that's the average for Yugioh DS games) cards to create decks with. Essentially a Pokemon Card DS shouldn't be considered a "remake" anymore than Ruby and Sapphire are considered "Remakes" of Gold and Silver.

If it were just a remake of Pokemon Card, I would fail to see the point. Especially since the three expansions in Pokemon Card have been out of print for nearly a decade.

As for remakes, I objec to a remake every single generation for no reason. But if Gen V were to pull a Hoenn and only include half of the obtainable Pokemon within it, I wouldn't object to a GSC remake THEN. I just find the prospect of a remake for this generation entirely superfluous, aside from people who want to see new Morty Sugimori art or something.

The notion that a game MUST have Pokemon unavailable in another game to be "worth playing" is an extremely annoying one that has been floating around since XD and it's starting to really piss me off. It's an extremely stupid thing to come off with really.

You play games to PLAY them. The Pokemon games are exactly the damn same. Whether or not you can get a handful of Pokemon you can't get in another game doesn't matter a damn to the gameplay.

I'm extremely meh over the prospect of another TCG game, and presumably so is Nintendo since obviously the original never did well enough in the West to warrant it's sequel being released outside of Japan - something really rather rare for Pokemon.

But the TCG is a matter of massive meh to me anyway.

I'd buy it, especially if it had online, touch screen use, and the DP edition... I definately am not into the card game much at all besides the Art. But I'd still give a DS game a shot.

So...it's not this CoroCoro, but next CoroCoro.

Anyway, Yugioh GX for the DS has 1200+ cards, and like 500+ 3D models of monsters.

A Pokemon Card DS could have cards for all the Pokemon, and allow for probably multiple cards of Pokemon as well.

What's the point of paying 30 bucks for a game you could get on Ebay for 10, when the only difference between the two of them is the quality of the graphics in a franchise where graphics have never been the focus or the point? I enjoyed FireRed, but honestly if there weren't any missing Pokemon, I wouldn't have purchased it. It'd be easier to just play the original Red version.

You play games to play them yes, but to market a slightly graphically madeup version of a game that's 10 years old, you need a better reason than that. Especially since the Badge Quest of the original Generation II games was without a doubt, the shittiest in all four games, as noted before. You'd have to do a major rebalancing overhaul to the entire game and all NPC Pokemon to bring it up so that the balancing is correct and you don't reach the Elite 4 in two to three days. Not to mention things like Fossils and the Safari Zone and other aspects of the series which were in every other incarnation of the franchise EXCEPT GSC.

And I'm not sure if GameFreak is actually willing to do that, but will instead just spiff up the graphics and add the new box and trading system and leave it at that. After all, they didn't add Contests or Secret Bases to FRLG, two major aspects of the franchise which had just been introduced.

Wow, take the 3D models out and you could very well fit all 3000 something of the TCG's cards onto a version of Pokemon DS.

Not to get too OT, but did you find the same images in the image board where the Diamond and Pearl info was found?

Also, that's good news on Yugioh. I assume its referring to the one that's coming later this spring? I feel kind of bad though, because I just convinced my brother to buy Spirit Caller a week before they announced the new game... But he'd still probably had wanted the free cards though..

I was talking about Spirit Caller. That has 1200+ and Models.

Of course, some people dislike the models as they subtract from the overall card number.

Replace those with DS sprites for the Pokemon Card Game, and you could fit a ton.

    EDIT:

FTR, a DS Card Game I would like. The card game is interesting, but I don't have the money (or friends) to take advantage of it.

I loved FireRed and it made a game that was - to me - completely unplayable after 8/9 years of advances to, not only the graphics of the game (which, anyone has to admit to, were really rather poor to begin with anyway) but to the gameplay mechanics.

G/S is pretty much the same too - though to a lesser degree.

I totally agree that G/S was a weak game, but I believe a new version could improve it. That would be worth it alone - the Johto region and its Pokemon got completely shafted as far as the Pokemon franchise in general is concerned. Any improvement to that is a good thing in my book.

At the very least, if they did a remake, I'd hope that they rebalanced everything so that all the Gym Leaders have more Pokemon, and at higher levels (IE - average of 45 instead of 37 for the last Gym), and that you could get the much-needed new evolutions (Honchkrow, Mismagius, Ambipom, Wavile, Togekiss, Yanmega, Gliscor, and Mamoswine) without having to beat the Elite 4, to actually encourage players to catch the damn Johto Pokemon.

Oooh...and new Sugimori art of Xatu, Magcargo, and and all the other cool GS dudes.

(Although, I wonder why they gave certain ones new art when FR/LG came out...I speculated that it was for new 4th Gen forms, but that was proven wrong...)

I want GSC remake 2. And for Snap, yea it was fun for a while but if you think about it people that didn't do more then beat the game it took them like an hour to beat it.

I don't recall...Dunsparce was on the Isles, but he didn't get a new art.

It was HootHoot (an early release Pokemon), Ledyba (another early release), Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Togepi (cute, marketale Pokemon), Bellosom and Marril (early releases), Espeon and Umbreon (popularity in XD?), Murkrow and Misdreavus (who both got evos), Slowking (early release), Unown (kinda gimmicy), Sneasel (got an evo), Houndoom (but not Houndour?), Donpahn (early release), Elekid (early release), and all the Ledgendaries except Celebi.

Raikou, Entei, Suicune and Ho-oh retained their Crystal artwork (they had been redrawn, much like Yellow's Pikachu and Emerald's Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip and Rayquaza). Lugia simply retained the Gold/Silver artwork. Of course, Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile were given new artwork for Emerald, rather than Crystal or FireRed/LeafGreen.

There are 60 Johto Pokémon found in FireRed and LeafGreen (excluding the phantom Lugia and Ho-oh, as well as the evolution-restricted Espeon and Umbreon). The 18 Pokémon with new artwork are not all found in the games (Hoothoot, Houndoom, and even Espeon and Umbreon to some degree).

Ah, you're right. Kinda hard to tell.

My poster I was looking at didn't have the Starter Artwork on it.
