Thread: Need Help Beating Norman!

I need help beating Norman in Emerald! Here is my team and their moves:

5.Combusken-Lv.30
Double Kick

Rock Smash
Ember

Is my team okay? I've beaten all the trainers in the fields AND inside the gym.I need HELP!!!!

Try making sure everyone is Level 32. Use Kirlia against Vigoroth and Slaking; when Slaking does down, send out Combusken and use Double Kick to finish the job. If it doesn't work, spam the following moves:

Azumarril - Defense Curl once, then Rollout FTW
Kirlia - Psychic
Beautifly - Mega Drain
Skarmory - Steel Wing
Combusken - Double Kick

For starters, I'd level up Kirlia, as it's only 1 level away from becoming a Gardevoir. This is assuming you want to evolve it, of course.

What is Azumarill's ability? If it is Huge Power, then teach it Strength or something similar to take advantage of its high Attack score.

To conclude my present observations...level your team up more, basically. A team around level 30 is going to be quite beneficial. Beautifly's going to have a tough time as it simply lacks many powerful moves at this stage of the game. You're going to have to grit your teeth and train against wild Pokemon, I'm afraid. It's a bit tedious, but it's what you'll need to do, methinks.

For starters, evolve Kirlia and then start the battle with Gardevoir, Double Team a couple times, the start killing everybody until Gardy's dead (fainted).If your on Slaking I would suggest sending out Combusken and Rock Smash to lower Slaking's defense..Make sure you have some revives in case combusken dies, or send out Azumarill and Rollout..It shouldn't be a long time before you win if you used Rock Smash to lower Slaking's (or whatever) Defense...hope this helps a little.

Pelipper learns Protect naturally. Get a Pelipper at at least equal levels of Norman's Pokemon and Protect on the turns Slaking would attack, and attack on the turns that it Truants. Since Protect only decreases in effectiveness when used consecutively, this works perfectly.

Another option would be to go back to Dewford Cave and grab an Aron, they're 4x resistant to Normal attacks.

haha!! That is the most weird question ive heard in this forums! you should take all the trainers u can see... then atleast youre pokemon would be 5 lvl higher! My combusken was blaziken at 38 when i fought Norman once. And keep in mind that you should battle every trainer next time you get any troubles. And you're krilia should kept calm mind...

Teleport sucks, too.

It's an in game team, he/she/it might use it outside of battle.

Go get a Shroomish and use that as a 6th Pokemon, they're really helpful with all Mach Punch and other fighting moves. :o

listen to me,u shouldve never have trained ur other Pokemon,u couldve had a Blaziken lv 40 or more



But who cares,jhust because i beat every Pokemon League beside Sinnoh and got my Symbols

You can try level-grinding for about an hour,
that always helps. And if you're too lazy to do it
yourself, get one of your friends to do it
when they're really bored.
