Haha. You're advertising, aren't you? I'm glad you're letting people see now that you're updating a little bit. Seems like us talking has been a good thing.

What sort of move was "Serene" supposed to be, and what is that big house in "Silent Hills"? It can't be Professor Elm's Lab, since he didn't exist yet.
Why does this screenshot have a 1999 copyright? Isn't it from the 1997 Spaceworld demo?
Copyrights don't necessarily represent the year they were made in. They probably bought the copyright for the following year or when they planned to release it.
Wait, Redstar, is that you?Yep, your message on YouTube got me to start working on my site again.
whoops, I forgot that I still had that on the main pageI found that on pkmn.net a few years ago. As far as I know, that is the earliest screenshot of the Gold title screen. Might end up removing it unless I can confirm that it's the demo's title screen. I'm guessing it's from early 1999, before the final title screen was created.
Not sure what "serene" is. It might be a move that was removed in the early 1998-mid 1999 "revamp stage" during the development process. That big house is probably Professor Oak's new Lab. In the demo summary, a radio transmission plays in the player's room saying that Oak is in Johto discovering new Pokémon.

This is so cool. I love finding/reading about "lost" beta stuff from games. Thanks for sharing this stuff! :D
As others have already stated, thanks for doing all of this.
Will read up on this ASAP.
Thanks.

Thank you so much for this! A shame the Lass design seems to be forgotten by Game Freak. It was my favourite...oh, well.

It's my pleasure everyone. Like I said before, I just wanted to preserve this information before it vanished forever :)

Wondering why Pokemon is spelled "Pockemon?" Also, whats the pokemon on the screen beside the metapod? Snubull?
Thanks Felly for banner
^That was close to me. Interesting
The screen says "Ishitsubute" which is Geodude. And it does look like Geodude from the first gen.
It's been a long time since I've been here; dropped in to see coverage of 5th generation stuff. Saw this thread and I absolutely had to post. Fantastic job, celebi23. Hopefully you'll be able to uncover some of the secrets of the beta Pokémon. I have hope that one day a full copy of the beta will be leaked, as I figure one still has to exist. Though just finding the rest of the contents of that magazine for which only the cover is currently available would likely reveal some information as well.
Keep up the good work. :)

Looks more like a Geodude to me...
Celebi23, have you ever found a web site with information about the N64 RPG game that was supposed to be developed by Game Freak? According to Wikipedia's Nintendo 64DD page, it was tentatively called "Pokémon 64" or "Pokémon RPG". Like with Stadium, this plan for the Nintendo 64DD was scrapped, but the game never made it to the Nintendo 64 in any other form (it was replaced by the Snap and Hey You Pikachu! games).
I'd love to know what the game would have been about had its development been completed.
This stuff is very interesting, thanks for looking them up :p Now only if someone found anything regarding the RS*beta... (this far, I've only seen one image of it).
