in gen 3 the electric gym caused me the most grief... because i was using a marshtomp. how did that mess me up? i forgot it was a ground typ, so i sent it to the daycare and got a new pokemon to use rollout... i sucked at pokemon back then.

R/B/Y: Sabrina
- Meh...Not really any excuses here...
My teams rarely had anything to go against psychic types, so they were a real pain...
G/S/C: Morty
- I allways had some trouble with Morty. He allways cursed my strongest ones and then KO'd everything else with the ones he had left.
Even the "Goddamnitdieallrady" -miltank didn't give that much trouble.
R/S/E: Norman
- You...You and you're Slakings... I never had any fighting types or anyone to use fighting type attacks,
so it's not hard to imagine what kinda time it was...
FR/LG: *Check R/B/Y*
D/P/P: Volkner
- They were all TOO easy, but I'll give the credit to Volkner.
Mostly because on my first playtrough I only used Infernape and Gyarados (and beat the league with those two) and Volkner somehow managed to KO Infy on his first pokemon.
I was literally like: "Ok...Let's see...Electric gym, Gyarados = 4 X weak to electric, yeah, I'll die here.."
Nevertheless, I actually won...
HG/SS: Claire
- I'll name you.
I finally had a Yanma and few others to make it through Morty,
bt I had no dragon types or that kinda stuff.
It was an exciting battle that, finally, my Ampharos "the sole survivor" won.
Overall: I'll give my vote to Morty.
Not because I find him the hardest, but because I rarely use anything to counter psychic/poison/dark or ghost types.
i dont even have enough poke to get my onix out of the daycare...

Morty was easy for since I used Kenya the Fearow which used Pursuit everytime.

LIKE A BOSS. Charizard FTW.
Secret butt fun!
Avatar made by this guy. I have a YouTube account and a twitter.
In Soviet Bulbagarden, anime is butthurt over all aspects of YOU!
RBY - Probably Sabrina, given the total lack of decent Pokemon to use against Psychic types. It's just that by the time I take on Sabrina, I've usually duplicated plenty of rare candies and over-leveled my team, so she wouldn't really be that difficult.
GSC - WHITNEY. I have never had so much trouble with any gym leader, EVER, which is absolutely appalling when you consider who she is and what she uses.
I also had a LOT of trouble with Sabrina (again) and Blue, because of their stupid Alakazams. No rare candy cheating means under-leveling.
RSE - I can't remember having trouble with anyone, though surely I have. I've been playing through Ruby recently and really training my team properly, so no gym leader has been much of a problem.
DPPt - I've only played through this generation once, and it's been over a year since then. I think pretty much all of the leaders required more than one attempt, though. I remember really struggling against Fantina before I found out that my Luxray's bite attack would help a lot.
HGSS - WHITNEY AGAIN. Only this time she barely used Rollout at all. She just kept healing and healing and it was even more infuriating.
I think I had trouble with Morty, too. All I remember is that I had to use Pidgeotto against him instead of whatever Pokemon I'd raised specifically for that gym.
I actually beat Clair in liiiike one try, but only because I had a ton of restorative items. I had to let her Kingdra kill my Pokemon so many times so it would run out of PP on its stupid strongest move (I can't even remember what it is, Hyper Beam?) and no longer be able to take down my Ampharos in one hit. That's the same strategy I used against Sabrina and Blue in Silver.
You were in my dream; half human, half machine.
He's Mine. /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
RBY: Brock and Misty because I kept picking Charmander. I was a little kid and I didn't know how Bide worked so Brock kept killing me. And Misty's Starmie's Bubblebeam ravaged my team. I was finally smart enough to pick Bulbasaur.
GSC: Bugsy. Scyther vs Unown didn't go over too well.
E: Juan because you have no ubers to help you like in RS. It doesn't help that Blaziken was my starter.
HG/SS: Fucking Falkner. It literally took me 20 minutes to kill his Pidgeotto because the damn fucker was faster than my Totodile and kept Roosting and Gusting me. I considered turning the game off several times, but with persistence, he ran out of Roost PP and I finally won.
