Thread: Most Difficult Gym Leader in each generation?

1: Misty (I always start with charmander or more often, pikachu)
2. no-one was that hard except red, destiny bond and focus sash always sealed the deal when you got stuck, otherwise clairs kingdra
3. Tate and Liza (how many times did they beat me?)
4. Hmm... I don't really have one at the moment. Don't own the game myself so I haven't faced all leaders.

Gen I: Sabrina
Gen II: The Ghost Guy
Gen III: Tate 7 Liza

I feel like an asshole because I beat Tate & Liza on my first try.

Generation I: Misty. Because at that point, your starter was basically the only good special pokemon you could get, as Eevee was all the way in Celadon and so where evoulutionary stones. Bubblebeam just hurt (Not just the damage, also that shrieking metallic noise it made).
Generation II: Clair. Her Kingdra brings pain.
Ruby/Sapphire: Norman. Those two Slakings were just crazy. Them skipping the second turn hardly matters, as they kill you on the first.
Emerald: Juan. As mentioned before, Kingdra brings pain. The only way I was able to beat it was by getting a Shedinja and watch the Bringer of Pain waste it's PP. And even then, it's Struggle still did nasty damage.
FireRed/LeafGreen: Sabrina, because I tend to do Saffron City before Fuchsia. Otherwise, none of the Kanto gym leaders were really that difficult in the remakes.
Platinum (Never played Diamond or Pearl): None of them were very hard, but Gardenia packed wuite a punch.
HeartGold/SoulSilver: Again, Clair and her Kingdra, which has become even harder to beat since the originals.

Gen II Of course Whitney Her Clefairy usally got epic moves on metronome then came her Miltank...
Gen III Juan His Kingdra was...just evil
Gen IIII Byron I didnt have any fire or ground types...it was torture.

Milk Drink every Ten Seconds, Torture Defense, Crap Attack draws the battle out...

I'm glad I had my Palkia, Level 100.

Gen2:Chuck was so hard because of his Primape
Gen3:Norman's Slakings were soooooooo Annoying
Gen4:Fantia's Mismagis and Drifblim Were really Defenseive

Firered/Leafgrean: Not really any of them, that were too hard, but, I had to train a Oddish just to take Misty out, so I'd say she was the bugger.
R/S/E: I don't own any of these games..
Platinum: I'd have to say, Fantina's Ghost Pokemon; as i didn't really have a pokemon, with the best moves to beat her.

You really should get them. They are seriously ACE.

Gen I: I remember having a very hard time with sabrina and lt surge :p

Gen II: Didnt really find any of the gyms hard since i learned about overleveling in this generation XD. But clair always beat me.

Gen III: That fire gym leader, she was annoying to beat

Gen IV: I forget :p

RBY: Depends on your starter, it's either Brock or Surge, Surge is hard anyway with his double team spam

GSC: Pryce.

RSE:The Fire One

DPPt: Volkner

GSC: Clair gave my Typhlosion a lot of trouble.

RSE: Flannery. I HATE Attract.

FRLG: Blaine was hard for my Venusaur.

DPPt: Candice destroyed my Torterra.

Kanto: Brock in Yellow almost unbeatable since I couldn't catch a water or grass type

Johto: Bugsy in the remake hi Scyther kept wiping my guys with U-Turn a lot and caused me to lose many times

Hoenn: Tate and Liza and Emerald they both had some really powerful attacks on their pokemons (second was Brawly)

Sinnoh: No gym leaders were tough in this game sadly...hope there's some in the fifth generation

Gen I- I didn't have too many problems in this generation, but if I had to pick I'd say Sabrina
Gen II- Whitney or Clair. Whitney cause of the Rollout+Attract combo, and Clair because of her evil Kingdra
Gen III- Wallace cause his Milotic kept using Recover
Gen IV- Fantina
