Centered around the older installments of the Pokemon series of video games, these polls will be based on the various different aspects of the popular video game franchise. With that out of the way, here is the poll: How old were you when you started playing Pokémon? Did you grow up with it as a fad and remained a loyal fan, were you one of the older fans from the very beginning, or are you a young'un who's only recently started?

I was 7 years old and started playing with Red version in 1999 but I can't remember when I got it in 1999, I expect on Christmas day because it released in Europe on 5 October 1999 and I was nearly 8 which is in a different option of the poll.

1998 right? I was...five.

And I still kicked ass.

I was... 6? No, 7, I got Yellow for my 7th birthday and that was my first game.

I was seven. Which isn't that long ago. I remember opening a present on Christmas Day, and finding FR inside. I also remember that I couldn't beat my rival in Cerulean City. ^^;;;

I was 25 when I started playing. Loved it then and love it now.

I think I was about 12 or 13 when I started playing.

They came out in 1998 so I was about 7

I started Red when I was... six, I think? I definitely know I was seven when I beat it. Perhaps I got it for my birthday or something.

I was already pretty familiar with videogames though.

I was nine I think, Yellow was my first game and I remember not getting the games until after the anime was popular. Had to sit through almost a year of watching my friends play theirs at school before I could play for myself. Though I'd borrowed my cousins Game Boy and Blue before, it was only for a weekend... giving it back was hard ;_;

I've been playing since Yellow came out in America, and I was very young indeed when that happened. Before I could read, I was beating Blue with a Pikachu.

Guess that shows that if you start young, you end up pretty good. Anyone who battled me recently can attest to that.

I think I was about 7 when I first started playing, but I might've been a little older.

Pokemon started in India in 2003 and I started the games in 2004. I was 10 then.

I played it since the very first game and I think I was 8 or 9 could have been older. Those were the days :p
