Re: LT Weekly Poll #25 Will Platinum be the last "Third Version"?
I think it depends on what happens in the games themselves tbh. B2 and W2 could each take the story in different directions (for all we know right now) and that's why they couldn't have just one third version; or it could simply be an experiment. They'll probably return to third version rather than sequel next gen. They might even take the middle route and instead of one third, enhanced version, or two sequels, just have one sequel with enhanced features (which I like the idea of, but I'll be the first to admit this is pretty far from likely).
Re: LT Weekly Poll #25 Will Platinum be the last "Third Version"?
Honestly, I hope Platinum wont be the last third version.
Re: LT Weekly Poll #25 Will Platinum be the last "Third Version"?
As much as I hope it will be (why can't the features just be in the original pair?!), I have serious doubts believing we've seen the last of the tertiary games. They make Nintendo and Game Freak too much money for them to consider abandoning the idea, and not every generation will demand sequels.

However, they no longer run a taxi service or love hotels (to my knowledge).

@Joshawott
ha ha. Funny but true.
But who knows maybe they'll incorporate a taxi service in Black2 and White2 like the magnet train in HGSS.
Re: LT Weekly Poll #25 Will Platinum be the last "Third Version"?
Maybe that means we'll see a love hotel, too. Ohbby.
But, seriously, the taxis would be an amusing addition. Though, I'm not sure all the good that they'd really do over the ships docked in the harbor as a mode of transportation.
Re: LT Weekly Poll #25 Will Platinum be the last "Third Version"?
I don't think so, I just have a feeling that B2/W2 is just a one-off and they'll go back to their old generation formula next gen.
Re: LT Weekly Poll #25 Will Platinum be the last "Third Version"?
I wouldnt say Platinum is the last 3rd version. I think B2/W2 is a new thing they are trying, and if it dosent do as well as they hoped, they may go back to making Third versions in the future. I think this is just them trying something different than usual.
