About LinkBacksWell, I received Pokemon Blue as a gift on Christmas, and I chose this one instead of Pokemon Red is that, too me, Blastoise looked like a boss on the front. It attracted me right away; and so did the colour.

But I do usually choose based on colour.

i was turning 10 (or was idr lol) and my mom thought i was ready to begin my pokémon journey! :D

Re: How'd you choose your first game? Emerald came as a combo pack with the GBA I purchased. As for why I bought a GBA in the first place, my dad offered to buy me one for my 9th birthday.

Re: How'd you choose your first game? Technically, my first game was indigo, a crappy online game I played a few months ago. I thought it was good since I never played a real Pokemon game.
My first real game was SoulSilver. My choice was between that and HeartGold, and the color silver kicks golds ass.
I don't calculate stat values. I don't care about natures. I catch my Pokemon the way they are. I just play the game normally.

Re: How'd you choose your first game? I didn't decide: the decision was made for me. My aunt knew that I liked Pokemon so she decided to get me a Pokemon game for my birthday. She just happened to choose Red version. I almost traded it away for Blue version, but I decided that I'd give Red version a shot.
