Thread: How'd you choose your first game?

When I got my first Pokémon game, I chose blue solely because I like the color blue better. The mascots had nothing to do with it; I actually vastly prefer Charizard to Blastoise.

What made YOU choose?

I chose Red because I liked Charizard, and because my brother was getting Blue. Mostly the latter, though.

I didn't choose at all. Me, my brother and my cousin got GBCs and pkmn games for christmas. I got blue, so did my cousin and my brother got yellow.

I don't know why, but i didn't play yellow until a few months ago when i found it in my brothers room, haha.

I chose Blue because I wanted Meowth, who was my favourite pokemon at the time.

Not really sure why. My first game was Crystal, which I actually had rented from Blockbuster (ended up buying a new copy and keeping the rental one :p). God knows what my five-year-old brain was thinking when I went with it, but meh, I'm happy I did. I <3 my Crystal.

Yellow was chosen for me as a present from my grandmother.

My brother had Pokemon Blue when he was younger and a couple of years later he decided to give it to me (I was around 5 or 6 at the time).

I think I got a copy of FireRed on one Christmas.

I lost it a few years ago.

My neighbor got red and let me borrow it. He then moved away. I haven't seen him since then.

Well, my cousin gave me and my brother his old blue and gold versions. I picked gold, just beacsue Gold is an awesomer colour that Blue. Back then I had no idea about the colour, 100 more pokemon, or 2 regions. Just that it was Gold.

I got saphire, mostly because my friend had RUby and FR/LG weren't out yet

I chose Blue out of randomness.

Mostly because Saphires mascot was a fish and I really liked fish.

I started with Yellow because it was bundled with a GBC, and I didn't have one.

My cousin gave me Yellow and Silver. Now I just save my money and buy both versions at once. The one I decide to play first is totally random.
