    Default Here's an idea.....

All the Pokemon (excluding old ledgendaries) in D/P.

Now, I don't mean to catch. But trainer's would use them. Personally, that would be awesome as it would give the trainers a wide array of Pokemon for their roster. Also, you could see all the cool, new sprites of the old ones without importing them one by one.

It would make the game seem more complete and very exciting.

We're talking about 500 Pokemon, that's pretty unlikely.

Why? I mean if you can import them in the game, why can't trainers use them as well?

I agree, the sprites of all the old Pokemon are in D/P anyway, so why can't the CPU use them? It is annoying that the trainers keep using the same Pokes over and over, (a Hiker with Geodude and Onix all the time, or those annoying Rocket grunts with Rattata and Koffing)

My preference would be directed towards emphasis on the new Pokemon. One of the things I really disliked about GSC was that there was far too much use of old Pokemon, making it feel like RBY II, which was precisely what I didn't want.

You know, I kind of was thinking the same thing. Especially if the make the game significantly longer, like GS porportions (not that it was significantly larger but the idea that you could return to old places) Then that'd be great and perfect, especially with times of day. One thing I felt about the other games is that there were never enough common pokemon, and they could always have some unlock more after you beat it, or long after you could get the ablility to trade monsters form other games.

Just imagine how cool it would be to go to a urban (or old midevil style) region of Shino where in the mornings and afternoons you run into pidgy, ratata, and tailow but in a more foresty area you'd run into sentret, spearow, and zigzagoon. I think that'd be really cool.

I also think it'd be cool to see something like wild pokemon poping around at certain times of the day in the forground and backgrounds of towns and cities (like have simple sprites of tailow flying in the morning, and ratata randomly poping up in allies. Most would not be able to be interacted with, but maybe some you could talk to like the town monsters in the game. I just think that'd be neat... maybe the whole thing of towns people at different places of the day in general.

What I wanted to do, though, is take the idea of "90% of the monsters will/have evolve/d" and guess to see how much more new and recreation pokemon we can see...
hmm... (maybe off by 2 monsters)

    can evolve-186
    evolved final-148
    never-47
    never because legendary-24
unknown new-7 (includes lucario, prerap, bouysel, pachirisu, dorapion, cherimu, and korobooshi)

so... thats with evolutions only we're at about 80.6% being able to evolve,
with the unknown monsters that are likely to (excluding lucario) its 81.8%.
this is out of 412 total pokemon...
    --old--vv
    hmm... This really makes me wonder.. (180 + 145 + 5 + 97(total number of pokemon - 500))/500 = 85.4%
So there are most likely to be more than 500 pokemon. I think I'm math'd out on this, but for anyone who wants to try to guess how many will be total in this game.

Sorry to be off topic a bit but it is something I was wondering.
Maybe there'll be 600 (550 is too small)
