    You don't like Zangoose? What?!?
Any way even if you don't like him he was extremely helpful completing the game for me. After you catch him he learns Slash in 3 levels. That leaves him knowing Slash, Swords Dance, Quick Attack and Pursuit before he's level 20. Couple that with really high attack and speed and you have yourself a monster.

Personally I just never got why people didn't like it. I really loved Hoenn's landscape and the new Pokemon. i also thought the plot was better than the first two, because it felt way too contrived for you to just happen upon Team Rocket's activities, but it didn't feel the same way involving Team's Magma and Aqua.

100th to vote Awesome, because it was.

While RS lacked a lot of the old favorites, it gave a lot of new ones too. The graphics were hugely improved, plus it had a larger plot than the older ones. Emerald improved on this by blending Ruby's and Sapphire's together.

Then there was FRLG. Kanto is ancient compared to Hoenn, but the remakes improved it with lots of the features added over the last five years. And on top of that, we got all the old favorites back. Very well performed, Game Freak.

Never played Hoenn, but from what I've seen/heard, I don't want to play it at all. For the most part, I hate the Pokemon designs, the legendaries are ugly (with the exception of Latios, Latias, and Jirachi), and half of the map is made of water. I hate water routes. ._.

Yo, Johto, I'm gonna let you finish, but Gen III had the best region of all time. OF ALL TIME.

That's a common misconception. The Pokemon designs really grow on you, and the water routes really don't make up all that much of the map, and the Dive Routes are just so freakin' fun :)

My favorite thing about Ruby had to be the music. It was seriously epic. Especially the music when you battle Team Magma Maxie. The plot was also full of suspense -- especially when the sun gets overbearing and the music stops.

The cave where Groudon is seriously is creepy. Just seeing him there -- i don't know, no other game has that kinda feel to it.

It also introduced really nice new Pokemon, like Flygon and Aggron.

I love Gen III. It's not my favorite region, like the water routes drove me crazy and some of the Pokemon were just plain ugly. But they were really fun games, and FRLG was awesome too.

    I don't understand why people don't like Hoenn's Pokemon.

A good chunk of the Hoenn Pokemon have some of the best or memorable designs of the series. Sure there are some stupid ones, but that's the same for any gen.

Aren't the dive routes the same as normal water routes? d:

Dive routes specifically refer to the Underwater portions.

Yeah, weren't they still exactly the same as being above water from a gameplay perspective?

Not really. Random encounters were limited to seagrass, and items could be found throughout the seafloor. From a gameplay perspective, underwater sections were actually more similar to land routes than sea routes. And of course, the Pokemon found in Underwater routes were different than on the surface.

This makes me a lot less worried about a Hoenn remake.
