Emerald. The storyline was interesting and I love Hoenn in general.
emerlad with fr and lg close behind after the 3rd gen Pokemon was not as good

Emerald was the best Pokemon game ever. Colosseum was epic also, the shadow Pokemon got a little old in XD though.
Secret butt fun!

In Soviet Bulbagarden, anime is butthurt over all aspects of YOU!
Emerald, most definitely. I've wanted to restart it but I have way too much invested in that game to risk it (and I've already lost my pearl game)
Emerald.
It just "feels" good haha. Plus you can catch pokemon that were only available through trade with another game.
For me it's Sapphire. Emerald is even better, but Sapphire just holds so many awesome memories for me.
Vaporeon, Flareon, Jolteon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon.
Can only evolve into one...
RSE.
Emerald was so amazing. I like Ruby and Sapphire because I used to spam catch Zigzagoon and stock on Rare Candy and other valuable items... which is gone now :'(
Pokémon Ranger felt the most original; so I loved it.
Going to the main series...I prefered FRLG over Hoenn's games. In my opinion, they just looked nicer. Also, nostalgia.

Emerald, FireRed/LeafGreen, Colosseum and Ranger.
I loved the 3rd Generation in every way, so I really like all games with certain tie-in with the main series, and the fresh feel they all had.
Emerald is obviously the definitive main series game of this Generation. It unified the plot introduced in Ruby/Sapphire and added to it, made Natures easier to control, and brought Gym Leader rematches and the Battle Frontier to the table. It's by far the most innovative game of the main series, and every 3rd Version since takes, and probably will take after it.
FireRed/LeafGreen were much better Remakes than HGSS, not afraid of ading actually involving new plot content, solving all the existing plotholes and giving us insight in the once-bland Kanto characters. Leaf is another big plus of these games, and I still like them a lot.
Colosseum was familiar yet fresh, and presents the most fearsome organization of the entire series. It broke the already tired mold in so many ways, and popularized Double Battles. It also has a feel-good approach and does what 2nd Gen games failed to do by introducing 2nd Gen Pokémon properly, and letting you use them throughout the whole game. It's one of my favorite games of the entire series, and though XD is also awesome, Colosseum is much more satisfying and different.
Ranger was a great spin-off with pretty satisfying tie-ins to the main series events and concepts. The plot was very short, but the gameplay was addicting and the characters were amazing. It also began one of the most involving sub-series in the franchise, and frankly deserves more attention than what it gets.
All these are also among my most favorite games of the series. 3rd Gen was just awesome.
Is that so ~
Emerald was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. The plot, battle frontier... It doesn't feel like playing an upgraded Ruby/Sapphire version but something better. Ah, the good memories
Emerald, It was the only Hoenn game I played, and nothing beats Hoenn!
Just restarted it aswell actually.
