Thread: About the FRLG character models in Colosseum

If anyine didn't know, Pokemon Colosseum contained the character models for Red and Leaf in their FrieRed/LeafGreen appearance despite being released much nefore those games.

What I want to know is what everyone though about them when they were first discovered. Did anyone realise that the male was Red and predict RB remakes based on those models and any other reactions.

Colosseum was only released two months before FRLG; by then, we had already seen Red and Leaf's artwork. That said, I suspect that the models for Deoxys' Attack and Defense Formes were not included in Colosseum to avoid spoilers.

There was something else in Colosseum that should have tipped us off to something we didn't know at the time: Lugia and Unown's absence from Colosseum hinted at the Sevii Islands. We had already expected that most of the Generation II Pokémon with evolutionary ties to Generation I might be exclusive to FRLG, but we had no idea about the Sevii Islands and so it didn't really seem likely that Unown and Lugia would be available via the remakes. In fact, a lot of fans believed that they were being reserved for Colosseum e-Reader cards.

I don't really remember my own expectations at the time, but I doubt the idea of Shadow Unown made much sense to me. Funnily enough, Lugia did end up being a Shadow Pokémon in XD, after all.
