I don't think shinies are ever better looking than the original, but shiny Luxray is pretty cool.
There are some shinies that are better looking than originals, but most of them aren't, though. But getting a shiny in a game is still the best thing ever. :P
...Actually, now that I'm looking closely, shiny Luxray reminds me of a bumblebee for some reason. o_o
Umbreon looks much better than the original, but that's just me. :P
You dont have to plan to find shinies, sometimes they randomly appear, it's happened to me a few times.
I've played alot of pokemon games in my life, but I've never found a single shiny. Guess I'm just unlucky like that.
Well you never know, you could get lucky one day, you cant predict when one will appear. I was chaining for shinies once and one randomly jumped out at me in a normal patch.
Ive only found 6 shinys, and ive been playing since gen 1.... the last shiny i found was a shiny Poliwhirl.... which i like better than a normal poliwhirl cause it's just a brighter blue. not such a drastic change..... i'm glad shiny's stay shiny when they evolve.

Yeah that one is kinda hard to tell, some of them are. I think they should at least make them a different color. No more of this a shade or two lighter stuff. I hope they will do that for Gen 6.
I have never found a shiny. Except for that shiny Gyarados from SoulSilver, but I don't even count that one as all players had a chance to catch it. I hope in Gen.IV the shinys look better than just a shade change!
