Default Why can't we use British and Australian English?

I just want to say that this is rediculous, if we type in for example Alternate Colouration (which is how i naturally spell it) i get nothing. At least a redirect would be nice.

Because this is a mostly American contributed Wiki. Why does it matter any way? No matter what it's the same word.

Can't redirect categories. (And if I were sure of getting my way I would mandate British spelling. But on the other hand that would create inconsistencies when quoting from the game verbatim.)

Because the games and anime are translated into American English and thereafter exported to other English-speaking countries.

I think we should use real English aka British. Isn't the USA the only place that doesn't use it?? But I guess it doesn't matter. Going through every article to add in a few U's would be too much trouble anyway.

It would be ridiculous, not rediculous, for starters.

And you're supposed to be oh-so-proper, with your shepherd's pie, your bangers and mash, and such other mish-mosh.

It is a little silly that we can't have redirects from British or Australian English, given that I'm Australian myself, but that's just how the software works.

Blame the categories. Other redirects are easy to do.

I'm Australian and i don't want to end up in a habit of using American english and i know Pokemon is American dominated but people outside America also use this site and a redirect is enough.

Who cares either way? If a new edit is made in either American or British English then just leave it that way, no need to make it completely dominant for one of them.

Are you kidding me? You think your writing will be thrown off because you can't put a U in color?

I think they don't want to pick up the habit of writing in American English, especially considering that while it makes no real difference on the internet, it does for offical exams and the like.

Exactly, i don't want to start an argument, i just thought redirecting would be really simple. I edit in my normal English, and i think most of them got changed to American.

As has been said, redirecting individual articles is cake, it's the categories which are hard to work with.
