Thread: Shikimi = Velma

Not that anyone else might've noticed yet, but I noticed that Shikimi shares alot of traits with Velma from the old Scooby Doo shows. Both wear glasses, their hair is styled the same way, both seem to like to study (Shikimi's holding a pen and notebook after all), and Velma along with the Mystery Gang investigate ghosts and other things of the sort and Shikimi is a Ghost type Elite Four. See any resemblence?

And King Ghidorah and Mothra being mentioned in Sazandora's and Ulgamoth's origin gets in because? And also the fact Palkia in the anime frequently uses roars from the one lizard from Star Wars Episode III and even King Ghidorah as well?

If in dialog she said "Jinkies", then we'll put it back. You gotta have more similarities than just "she sorta looks the same"... which is why Looker's thing about Koichi Zenigata should stay, but the Dr. Who reference probably shouldn't - it's all about logic. You think the Game Freak folks grew up with a series from the UK or one from Japan?

Japan, but remember Isshu is based on the U.S., so it would be logical for such things like this.
Or if one of her international names is Velma that might be something.

Isshu may be based on the US, but remember this: the creators are still Japanese. They base things off of their childhood/favorite stories/whatever, as evidenced by Enbuoh and Infernape being from Journey to the West - apparently it's one of the favorite stories of the Pokémon designers.
