"Snivy Plays Hard to Catch!" Review Thread

On his way to Nacrene City with his friends Iris and Cilan, Ash takes a stop in a forest for some lunch. Something surprises him when he sees a rare Snivy - a starter from the Unova region. Better yet, it knows the move Attract! Can Ash catch this treasure of a Pokémon?

Once you have the food, you cannot leave, Iris. Snivy gets a nice voice. No you don't Ash. You will never understand love. The dub welcomes the Pokemon Genderizer DX.

For some reason, the time it aired wasn't the same... for me, so I came in when there had already passed 5 min... also, the stream I watched was so sucky I couldn't even watch anything... filled with lag... but it sounded okay I think :b

A rather cookie-cutter episode, but enjoyable nonetheless. Shame we didn't get much elaboration on Snivy's past.

I still have to say...the pose Ash pulls of at the end with all his Pokemon reminds me of Chris-chan. Seriously, you can picture him saying "Shock to the extreme!"

for those of you wondering why it aired earlier: America went on DST last Sunday meaning that we're an hour Ahead now.

Anyway, Snivy's voice was good, I liked the part of the episode that I got to watch( woke up late... Again.)

I always did wonder why they had Snivy jumping in the air and looking happy with the rest, when the episode proves it isn't one to do that at all xD

I laughed when Dento was like "Ash must have known Snivy was a girl all along." and then Ash went "Oh, so it's a girl. Talk about a lucky break." and the music stopped xD

I wish they explained Snivy's past a little more but this was a good episode. I'm starting to get use to Dento's dub voice now.

The worst instance of this is in BW2, for Axew's 'Dex entry. It does the exact same pose with the voice saying "Axew marks its territory by making scratch marks on trees with its tusks" as if no, it doesn't spray like other animals xD

Something I'm interested in, how did Cilan explain his thought that Snivy may have had a trainer in the past? Does he sound more/less confident than Dent did about it?
