"Saving Darmanitan From the Bell!" Review Thread

Continuing on their way to Nacrene City, our heroes make a lunch stop beside a river. A Darumaka passes by and greets the group. As Iris plays with the Zen Charm Pokémon's eyebrows, the Darumaka gets fed up and blasts Iris with a Flamethrower. The Darumaka then steals its food. What is Darumaka planning to do with the group's food?

Looks like those Darumakka stole not only the food, but all the townspeople traveling at night too...

No wait... the animators just never drew them. Sigh...

And did Cilan really have to say that Oshawott had a type advantage against the Darumakka?

I liked the structure of the town itself, though.

I loved the face Pikachu made when Ash grew hungry in the Pokemon Center.

Also, did anyone else catch the music when Ash tries to pull up the bell and Darmanitan comes out of Zen Mode? It's a remix of Marvelous Bridge's music from the games!

I remember being bugged by the relative lack of townspeople out and about, but I like the episode way too much to care.

This was the first Best Wishes! episode that I loved, and the dub kept it that way.

This was a fantastic episode. The night scene was just marvelous and I couldn't resist it.

Team Rocket is awesome in this episode.

It's a shame that we hadn't gotten an episode like this before in the Best Wishes! series.

It's been better at keeping the food names since 4kids left. I think they even mention curry on a few occasions.

I thought that what the plot was cute! I love How Ash and crew always arrives at the scene of the turmoil just before things turn for the worst :P

And TR's voices actually sounded really serious this time, much less derp than before (according to my ears, of course. It's subjective)

Paella is Spanish, not Mexican. And yes, it is delicious.

I also laughed at how the opening got cut off just before "Pokémon!". It just abruptly ended at "Let the journey begin!".

The art direction in this ep was phenomenal. Poor Oshawott got double teamed in the beginning. The chase scene was short, but implemented well. Nice to see Pidove get some action.

I've haven't actually seen this episode. Maybe I will if you guys enjoyed it. I know by looking at screenshots the art is good in this one though.

Here's to the first filler in Black and White, and so far nothing disappoints.

This episode was spot-on from the Japanese version (I don't care too much about the food translations because it really is not important). This is a primary example of pokemon and humans living in harmony, and the Darumaka/Darmantian did everything they could to protect the humans in that town.

Team Rocket was also awesome in this episode.

WTP is Darmantian, as expected.

Who's to say that this wasn't happening until recently?
