Are people still arguing about Mewtwo's MtF characteristics?

I was honestly expecting the June issue of CoroCoro to "reveal" the probable Sableye evolution, but then they surprised me with non-Movie Pokemon...next issue is the last one before the film, I believe, so we should see what's up with him.

I had to edit out the Japanese test in the vid's name, since it made your post invisible.
Which makes me think, like I did before, Dunsparce will become the New Type...I could see him fitting Fairy, or the suggested "Cosmic/Aether" type, since he's based off a mythical creature and the game seems to imply he's got some remnant of a higher power with Serene Grace as an Ability.
Maybe Sableye doesn't get an evolution, but a pre-evolution (since he's a 2 EV guy it's possible), or they somehow use him to demonstrate the New Type being S.E. against him. Or Sableye isn't actually a Sableye, and is instead a Pokemon in disguise...the other New Mewtwo? Mew?
That would be random. Who would attack Sableye with a move of a new type? Genesect?or they somehow use him to demonstrate the New Type being S.E. against him.
So you're suggesting that they might be using Sableye as a red herring rather than actually hinting at Mew or another Forme? That isn't what I'd call effective marketing.
Yeah, Sableye being a placeholder wouldn't make much sense this late...like, they used Ho-Oh as a placeholder for Mew and Misdreavus was Kid's Pokemon in early trailers till Weavile was revealed, but we're two months or so from the movie. So I don't really think that myself.
But Dunsparce being a new type does make since when you look at the fact, it's based off a legendary Japanese creature...if the New Type exists to categorize the more "magical" Normal type Pokemon into their own group, he'd be a perfect candidate. It makes more sense to give a new type to the evolution. I am not in favor of type retcons that aren't merited by known facts.
Mewtwo's Forme is the New Type.
Mew, and Misdreavus was never implied to belong to Kid as far as I remember (it later turned that it belonged to one of the tournament participants).
Dunsparce itself is not mythical. The potential is definitely there, but I think it needs to evolve to realize it. You seemed to share that impression before Hiro changed your mind. But Dunsparce being a new type does make since when you look at the fact, it's based off a legendary Japanese creature...if the New Type exists to categorize the more "magical" Normal type Pokemon into their own group, he'd be a perfect candidate.
Mewtwo has no reason to attack Sableye.
