I am not going to agree with him that it's horrible. Once I see it, I will make my own conclusions.
Which will be never until it comes out in English. ;D;

The plot could be convoluted; the characters could be completely unnatural; the Pokemon may feel out of place; the entire rythym could be nonexistant. There's a number of reasons for not liking a particular movie.
This is definitely one of those "here comes the next-generation!" movies more so than Generation defining movies, like the last three were. We are in that transitionary period where everyone is more excited about the new Pokemon and new land rather than crap like Celebi and the dogs. Very similar to the last AG film if you had to compare it.
V Faction: Bulbatized
Nintendo 3DS Friend Code: 3136 - 6603 - 1330
V Faction, you mean the last two AG films because the Lucario movie had a lot of new pokemon in it too.
BRING BACK DEXTER!!!!
Jirachi and Deoxys: AG
Lucario: BF
Manaphy: Ranger
AG's main series didn't last as long as DP's, so Movie 8 (Lucario) definitely has a weird vibe to it, more so than DP's or even Johto's movies. Plus, we got Munchlax terribly early, which was all kinds of screwiness. So yes, feel free to include the last 2 movies of AG if you'd like.

If more people cared about the Pokémon that can actually move the plot along, this movie would probably be much better. This is what happens when a company panders to its base.
For the record, I think that the movie's problem is the focus on the villain, Kodai, more than anything else. But it certainly doesn't help that Zoroa seems to have been prioritized over the other Pokémon.
I know everyone has their own opinion and it's best not to judge a book by its cover but just going by the trailers, managa released so far...Pokebeach's opinion is probably not too far off. The only thing that interests me is the apperance of the shiny beasts even though they may turn out to be illusions..
Oh yea, as well as the Zekrom VS Reshiram battle teaser...
p.s: I want to ask him if Lugia or Ho-oh make any cameos...kidding. :P
i was at the movie and unfortunately, as much as i hate to ever be negative, i agree to an extent. it's NOT the worst movie ever and the pokemon characters (beasts, zoroa and zoroark especially) were amazing. but it had the most awkward, weird villain ever, with a weird purpose and weird futuregasms... and he just looked really weird too, like some kid designed him while kind of referencing a garchomp.
the main problem with the movie was the length. it felt drawn out about a half an hour too long. it kept switching between parties showing what they were doing, and they were always doing the exact same thing, for the entire middle of the movie. one of the people we went with actually fell asleep waiting for something to HAPPEN.
that was the problem - it felt like you spent most of the movie waiting for something to happen. and when it finally happened it just wasn't as cool as it could have been. lots of isshu references near the end was neat though.
the zekrom/reshiram animations in the commercial and trailer afterward were the best parts XD along with the sinnoh anime characters in the credits.

I hope these reports of it being bad are exaggerated... I was looking forward to this movie after 10, 11, and (to a lesser extent) 12 raised the bar for Pokemon movies in general.

I don't want to be a Negative Nancy, but I haven't really cared for any of the DP movies thus far. I feel like there not so much as trying to tell a real story, but just giving the legendaries their time on the silver screen and being done with them. =/
Still, I don't think it could be THAT bad.
