I liked seeing Axew finally be strong. Now Ash must work on Scraggy to catch up. Unfortunately, this is not what he does and wastes his skills on random pokemon. If you can train stuff that well, do it for your own pokemon, daggit. Oh, plot. Meh. Oh, and Tranquill is back, unless I somehow missed Ash switching out Swadloon for it. Guess we really can't think of it as a static team anymore, not in the slightest.

Poor Scraggy. He's needs some new moves badly. Sad thing is...if the scans are any indication, he's not going to get anything when the movie rolls around either. Well it seems that Scraggy, and Kibago are being played up as rivals at this point.

It was pretty cool, seeing Ash train Cottonee and the methods paying off in the end. Cilan and Iris seemed pretty fun in this episode as well. Though I'm curious as to what was up with Iris and that fiery aura.

I was kinda relieved to know that Ash wasn't gonna catch a Cottonee, and they were just helping it win a female's heart, but I also like how Scraggy got a little more attention in this episode. I love that little guy. XD

Even if this episode is technically "filler," it was still very entertaining to watch. Axew and Scraggy both got their moments in this episode. TRio's appearance in this episode wasn't a big deal since it was resolved within less than 2 minutes. It's a combination of the Paras episode back in the original series and Bye Bye Butterfree.

This episode also further establishes the trio dynamic that exists between Ash, Iris, and Cilan. Each of the trainers helped Cottonee in almost evey step of the way. While it was interesting to see Ash train with a wild pokemon for once, it is also a shame that he doesn't do this regularly with members of his own team on-screen.

If TR were only in this ep for 2 minutes, why even have them at all? They could have easily not been in this episode.

I'm really starting to fear the writers are going back to TR attacking the group in every ep.

Probably not. Last one was rather filler imo.

However, was it good or bad filler? That is the question.

Nope. Do the math. There were 8 episodes between the Striaton Battle, and the Nacrene Battle. 8 episodes between the Nacrene and Castelia Battles. It'll be 8 episodes by BW034, but they obviously won't be battling Elesa in BW034 but they should (hopefully) be in Nimbasa by then. So it's no more fillers than any other time. :P

That was a surprisingly pretty ending, with Satoshi and friends racing through that valley with the rainbow and the Monmen overhead.

Honestly why does it even matter?

I don't see what's so bad about fillers honestly.

Personally, I don't have a PROBLEM with filler episodes in an anime. It's just most of the time, I like seeing action that's the highlight of the whole series more often. So, I don't hate filler, but I prefer episodes that actually keep the plot moving.

I liked Cilan in this episode, but this episode definatley wasn't anything special compared to the cuteness overload of last week.
