Paras back in Kanto.
They don't actually identify Iris' hometown as Souryuu City, if I remember correctly. Iris just refers to it as her furusato, or "hometown."Iris explains the origin of Kibago, a pokemon who hatched only a day earlier and was given to her by a respected elder of her village (Souryuu City). In the anime, Souryuu City is more old-fashioned, similar to how it looks in White (where Iris is the gym leader).
Being a Gym Leader of a city doesn't necessarily mean that you were born and raised there. I would assume that Iris' hometown, at least as far as the TV series is concerned, is somewhere near Kanoko Town.
Obviously Dent and Iris found it weird, given their reactions. The end of the episode was very "interesting." Iris refused to battle Ash and Pikachu so the two fight against each other. Nobody finds this weird... at all?
I think I heard someone say dokudoku, which is "Toxic."Originally Posted by Missingno.Master
