BW 009 Out of Control Pendra! Rescue Kibago!
Iris and Kibago are facing Dent and Yanapp in a training battle! Iris suggests Yanapp go easy on Kibago, who's not very powerful yet, so it can become stronger little by little. To show how much it loves its kind and considerate trainer, Kibago ventures into the forest to get a Berry to give as a present. Upon entering the forest, it discovers a delicious looking Berry at the top of a high tree! Pikachu tries to stop Kibago from climbing onto the thin branch and reaching out for the fruit, but Kibago is only focused on getting the present for Iris! Just as it's about to reach the Berry, the branch gives way and Kibago falls head first! Kibago's fall is broken by the "Mega Centipede Pokemon" Pendra, who's so startled by the pokemon'slanding that it starts to thrash about!!

Team Rocket is going to desert...
We had seen a clear version of Poke-Earth, finally...
    Satoshi is a little masochist...
And that manga was misleading after all...
Doryuuzu is like Charizard and Mamoswine as well...
    Not anything surprising.

Kibago was sooooo cute in this episode!

Seems like Iris is basically all talk. Her Kibago is not that strong and her Doryuuzo(sp?) doesn't listen to her.

So Iris got a recently hatched Kibago from "obaba-sama" ("grandma" thoguh I don't think she's really her grandma) and was sent on a mission to raise it?
Now I'm convinced Kiba evolves by the end of BW...
    LOL at Ash VS Pikachu

After the flashback, Satoshi asks Iris if "obaba-sama" (which could be translated as "Granny," I guess) is really her grandmother. She confirms that she isn't; she's just the most respected person in her hometown.

Also, Kibago was only a day old when it was given to Iris.

I wonder who was the person Sakaki showed the TRio?

I'm glad we got a backstory on Iris now. Satoshi knows her goal now!

So, she is not a gym leader after all...

It's me, or she is so reluctant to battle Satoshi for some reason?

An agent Sakaki's going to send to help them with their mission at the Resort Desert.

She says she doesn't like losing. Satoshi then yells at her, saying that that's not a good attitude to have for someone who supposedly wants to get stronger.

Awww so cute... it probably sees Iris as its mother... it explains why it's so attached to Iris and also why it's so weak (yes, I know recently hatched =/= weak in this show, but it should be this way...)

I think I heard "agent" so I guess it's a TR agent they'll meet similar to the one from the Hihidaruma ep?

Maybe she is and just didn't say it... maybe she's -trying- to become a Gym Leader and raising this Kibago is a test for her to be the Gym Leader?

It's me, or she is so reluctant to battle Satoshi for some reason?
Well, she has one weak baby Poké and another Poké who doesn't listen to her... of course she won't be willing to battle like that

I honestly don't know whether I should like this episode or not.

It didn't seem like there was much of an episode there and it somehow lasted the normal 22 minutes. When the "half-way" break occurred I was like "already."

But I guess with what we got was okay. Some backstory on Iris and Kibago and Iris with a Doryuuzu which is fine, I guess.

It just didn't seem like a full episode to me for some reason (possibly because of the connection of the feed) but eh, maybe when I watch it again in better quality I'll like it better.

Really? That was dragon rage? They seemed to overpower it in BW didn't they?

And LOL at Ash and Pikachu battling, and Iris's expression when they were going to battle.

Someone even remembers when was the last time TR appeared in front of Ash and Co? It's strange that they don't even see Ash.

I was happy not seeing that otter for a change. They were really starting to overuse him.

I really, really liked this episode. Iris desperately needed her own episode, and I'm glad the first one they came up with turned out so well. Seeing Iris with her insecurities and downright childish attitudes toward losing offered some much-needed character development for her. That story about how she got Kibago was also a nice surprise.

I'm also liking the trio of Satoshi / Iris / Dent. They really had some great interactions this time around (I like how both Dent and Satoshi nicknamed Kibago's Dragon Rage "Dragon Sneeze") and the writers are showing signs that they know what they're doing with these characters. I'm interested in seeing what the writers do with this trio.
