After Paul and Barry’s battle, Ash and Conway head out to the battlefield for an astounding 3-on-3 battle!

Can't wait to see how they change the gible vs. dusknoir music.

Interesting. Brock just said Infernape powered up with Flare Blitz, but in the original, Brock said Infernape forgot Flame Wheel.

Also, how did Conway know about Gible working on Draco Meteor? He hasn't been in any episodes since the summer school and Ash caught Gible later on. Does the league show info on Gible's skills or something?

Wait, in the Japanese version Brock actually said a Pokémon forgot an attack? how come I never heard of that till now?... are you sure? if that's right, then there's even more "proof" for the 4 moves limit existing in the anime, at least in the late DP episodes

Ooh, is that the same vocal song that was used in the Dawn/Zoey GF match? Neat.

What the hell is this crap playing during the end of the Gible battle. I don't remember this song at all.

Edit: Nevermind I remember it now.

That song was so misplaced. It was too low and couldn't be capitalized on due to talking of the characters not being in synch.

The battle was great! I jsut loved Conway's "secret strategy" and Ash's counters. It was one of the greatest battles in my opinion.

I do admit it was one of the better battles of the League.

    Oh, hello Gliscor.

Great episode! Just as good as it was in the original. Now I remember why it was one of my favorite league battles.

It was nice to see Ash's Noctowl, Donphan, and Gliscor again. And it was nice seeing Gible master Draco Meteor, as well as seeing Noctowl's Extrasensory. It was a really interesting battle since each used a little more complex strategies than they usually use in Pokemon. And with "Ultimate Challenge" playing during Dusknoir vs. Gible made it all the more awesome.

But it's such a shame that this is Conway's last appearance. :(

Yeah, he did. It was odd how they changed it in the dub. It gives the impression Infernape still has Flame Wheel, even though we'll only see it for 6 more episodes, so flare blitz spam won't really throw off the watchers.

I guess TPCi was really against using the original Pokemon theme for Gible beating Dusknoir. It would've been epic to hear. Although, did anyone else feel the volume on the song they did play was too low? Between all the explosions, Ash and Conway talking and hearing "Gible Gible Gible Gible," I couldn't make much of it out.

I loved Brock's line when Lick was being used on Gible, "Normally Lick causes opponents to be paralyzed, but this seems to be much more than that." Conway, you creeper!

lol really? It seemed like Ash just pulled that one out of nowhere (well, he pulled it from somewhere ...). Dusknior had it all in the bag. Chalk it up to Conway not being a main character.

EDIT towards above: Yes, exactly. Not executed properly.

Consider that an ass pull for Ash. Apparently Gible's biting into things isn't affected by Trick Room and outsped shadow punch.

For the Japanese viewers, they got the original theme and an epic finisher, but we got a song used in the Grand Festival with too low of volume. Why do we get the shaft so much?

It's been mentioned on the forums before, by Musashi at least.

It was quite low for the Grand Festival final as well, sadly.

I appreciate the effort they are making to include a vocal song, but I hope they can do it just a bit more professionally next time.

Something so prevelant it needed it's own section:

    Sucky Voices:
    - Ash's Infernape
    - Conway
    - Conway's Shuckle
    - Ash's Gible
    - Paul's Electrivire

I heard Infernape's voice at the beginning of the episode, and Electrivire's voice right near the end, and I thought, 'dear God, the battle against Paul is going to suck'. At least they didn't dub Noctowl's voice. Come on TPCI. Surely you must understand that not every Pokemon needs to say its name over and over...

I didn't like the scenes with Team Rocket [mainly because of the classic TR Dialogue] but Cynthia came in to save the day.

The BGM I excepted to get replaced [the one used during the battle with Lickylicky] was kept in, so that was a plus. It almost made up for the shortcomings of this episode. Almost.

EDIT: The BGM I was referring to is called "Flying Pokeball Chaos".

The vocal song used during the end of the battle... sure, it's no Aim to Be A Pokemon Master [2001], but I might have liked it more if I could have actually heard the lyrics.

Yeah I'm complaining, but don't listen to me. This episode was great!
