At long last, we’re at the final stage of Ash and Paul’s battle! This might just be the most intense battle ever!

Compared to the Japanese version of this episode, the dub version left me depressed.

    It was ok, I guess.

"Now that is beautiful! See! ...Look at the fireworks! Aren't they splendid?"
    -Frieza from" DBZ Kai"

And that's how I'd describe this episode. It kicked ass! The climax, especially!

I'm a tad disappointed that Type Wild English wasn't used for the dub but the English dub managed to be equally epic as the Japanese version with a karaoke version of "The Ultimate Challenge." Gotta make do with what you got.

Ash and Paul's rivalry really went out with a big bang! Great job, Infernape! Great job, Ash! And great job, Paul!

    10/10!

Edit: As for the rest of the music, I would've used the Japanese music to amplify the dub's epicness. But the dub (standing on it own) wasn't too bad. It just could've been better.

The episode itself was excellent. 10/10
However... the dub completely ruined it. After seeing it today, it left me very depressed. 6.7/10

    Total average: 8.35/10

Also disappointed by the music. I don't remember the end of the episode being so.....quiet.

Other than that, they did a great job with the dub. I didn't hear a single awkward-sounding line. They also did a good job keeping Paul's character intact.

I'd give it an 8/10, with two points taken out for the music.

Yeah. The dialogue in this episode was pretty faithful to the Japanese version, so we at least have to go the writers credit. (Not even Team Rocket could ruin it!) The music composers, on the other hand...

The epic battle, of course, speaks for itself.

Holy shit. Okay, I'm pretty pissed right now, but let's start off with what I thought were the GOOD points:

-Brock's lines were beautifully done. "Two sides of a same coin" fighting toward the same goal. <3
-I wasn't even mad when Paul used the word "pathetic" against Infernape. I was pretty fitting since I think at that point he was trying to edge Infernape on.
-The ending scene when Paul walked away...well, you know. I can't be completely disappointed by that ;) The way the characters were written and voiced were to my satisfaction. Ash's "You're going now?" was super cute!

Now...the big thorn in the episode:

This is my favorite episode of all time! Rivalry well ended :)

I mean, I noticed the quiet aspect of the episode, but do people really keep track of the titles of each piece of music just to pick the episode apart for not being faithful to the original? I'm not denying the silence of the episode, but the goal is to heighten the emotion of the scene, not pay homage to Tokyo, Japan.

They're Team Rocket; they're SUPPOSED to have awkward dialogue. (At least in DP....)

Normally, during battle scenes and all that, I could care less about the music. And yeah, I didn't even care for this episode either.

But the fact that the music didn't heighten the emotions during the TWO SCENES WHERE THEY NEEDED IT THE MOST kinda grinds my gears.

Replacements are fine. But when it's too quiet or lackluster...I get disappointed.

And Chiisaki Mono has been used for Cacnea's goodbye and Dawn's talk with her mom at the end of the GF. Why would they go through the trouble of replacing it?

Yeah, if TPCi is going to replace the music, then they may as well put some effort into their own music at the very least.

Was the dialogue at least more of the same in the Paul/Ash exchange at the end?

Lol, I'm not surprised they used the word "Pathetic" again. Though for once it wasn't that much different from the original..in which he said something along the lines of "Is that all of your power? You continue to disappoint me/Don't disappoint me again."
