Red/yellow/gold/crystal I used those official guides, platinum I used a gamefaqs guide word for word (very tedious reading a sentence and moving a certain way, reading another sentence and moving, etc etc :().

Since platinum was not as fun as I thought it would be (nostalgia-seeker here), I've pondered that it might be due to how I was following a word guide literally letter by letter.. so I'm thinking of playing HG/SS without any guide whatsoever (info sites like bulba will be referred to still).

There seemed to be a few things in Platinum where, if you missed the opportunity the first time, you were screwed.. so I'm worried about this kind of stuff in HG/SS?
