So... *not the other blog of mine with the same name*

With all the Shinies people have been finding, I thought I might be able to find one myself. Off the list of Shinies I want, I chose Trevenant, and set off to Route 20 to find one. This blog details all the ways I didn't find one.
I read on Serebii that Trevenant are more common in the red patch of flowers in Winding Woods, AKA Route 20. First, I decided to use the Poke Radar to chain for a Shiny. I made it to 20 before the chain was broken by an evil Jigglypuff. I tried again, but it took at least 15 uses of the Poke Radar before another Trevenant chain even started; everything in-between wasn't what I was looking for. I continued failing until I decided to try Sweet Scent. The move always triggers a Horde Battle, and as Hordes have 5x the number of Pokemon, my chances of finding a Shiny Trevenant should skyrocket, right?
Wrong. I only encountered 4 Hordes of Trevenant amongst at least a dozen Hordes of Foongus. Frustrated, I decided to find a Japanese Trevenant off the GTS and Masuda Method for one. That's when the GTS decided to flip me off by giving me an error message EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I. TRIED. TO. TRADE. FOR. ONE.
So I've given up...for now.
