  1. YOJ's trip to Great American Ballpark. Caps, 103 MPH and Extra Inning Heroics.

I spent a total of $12 on StubHub to get (2) tickets last night's Reds vs. Pirates game. Tickets that were normally $7 each (Kroger Bleacher Seats), and that is without all the processing and handling that would have ended up running me $35.

    Jacob got a deal.

Little backstory; the other ticket went to a friend of mine, who is a huge baseball fan, but had never been to an MLB game. So that makes two Live-MLB-Game virginities I've taken away this year (I didn't blog ...
  2. YeOldeJacob’s Quest for the Mythical Pinstriped (Circa 1993-1998) Reds Hat

You see the hat above? You’d think it’d be simple enough to track one down.

    It isn’t.

This is the hat the Cincinnati Reds wore for six years (1993-1998), and it is my personal favorite from the team’s better-than-a-century existence (this hat also was part of my personal favorite uniform). I seem to be in the minority on this. Maybe that is why New Era no longer produces them.

  3. When they say stupid shit like this, PeTA shouldn't be wondering why people hate them

The Florida Marlins are getting a new stadium (and a new name; the Miami Marlins) in 2012. With that new stadium comes this unique idea:

Seriously. How fucking badass is that? Real aquariums with real fish incorporated into the backstop, visible from the front and back.

But, of course, PeTA objects. Claiming that the loud crowds, bright lights and reverberations of a stadium will hurt the fish. ...
  4. As a Reds fan, I can't believe I never made this nerdy Pokemon connection

Maybe it is because Ash's leg kick went insanely high here... or maybe it has always been like that and I just never noticed it... but Ash:

Is totally doing a Bronson Arroyo impression:

There. I made a ridiculous connection only an obsessive nerd can. I can has cool now?

  5. NFL/Fantasy Football fans within the realm of BMGf:

Anyone interested in participating in a BMGf Fantasy Football league? The reason I ask is I've joined free leagues in the past, and since there is noting at stake, people typically end up forgetting to pay attention to their team or their league if they are the creator.

I figure, if I can find 4-20 participants from this forum, I have a better chance of finding something a bit competitive.

And yes, I'm a boring fuck who likes Fantasy Football.

    So anyone ...
