Sunday#24 Breaking the Bank

As we all know (assuming you don't live under a rock), Pokémon Bank has been delayed due to server maintenance. I know especially since I spent an hour getting all my boxes ready in preparations. But what does the community think of this?

Ah! Everyone is upset that they can't transfer or store or simply bask in the glory of the feature yet. Shall we take a look and see if people should make such a fuss? I think so.
Before we really delve in let's get this out of the way. This is written without the fact of the Bank being released months after the games' launch. That's a different argument that won't be considered here. Continuing on!
What people should be asking themselves is this: what did they expect? Did everyone expect the eShop to handle the whole world downloading the same program at once? That the servers would be able to hold that. If so, then that is some high expectations! Just take a look at Grand Theft Auto's online. That went down for a bit like the developers knew it would yet they still couldn't prepare for it in advance. I would bet GameFreak is in the same situation.
Another overestimated expectation people are having is how long the service will be down. I've seen one person demanding the free trial be extended to two months for this. Want to know how long it will be down? I'll tell you what seems most likely. A week worst case scenario. Tomorrow best case scenario. And it being up tomorrow is an actual possibility.
Just be patient a little longer and the past two months will be worth it.
In other news, a Celebi is being distributed to those who use the Bank within the next few months. Of course, who doesn't have one already by this point?
Thanks for reading.
...what we should be upset about is that Flipnote Studio 3D is four months late and still has no release date.
So for those of you wondering, this isn't weekly anymore due to me simply running out of things to talk about. Expect these only when something notable happens.
And it's still going to be called "Sunday" even if it's not Sunday.
