It's clear that animosity between these two factions within the fanbase won't get any better. In fact, I think I quit trying to make things better. Instead, I'll just make things worse.

Hey you, Red and Satoshi fans, these guys want a piece of the action too!

This "Red" war will result in a blood bath that will be remembered for ages to come. Ha. Get it?

English-speaking Red and Satoshi fans. Why can't you be more like your Japanese counterparts?

Look at that. They're getting along. So why can't you?

Yes, he's the only Red to have ever canonically owned a Raichu. And he didn't even force-feed it the Thunder Stone, it WANTED the Thunder Stone.

Should give Zensho!Satoshi some props for standing out. Damned yellow rats.

    No.

Zensh Satoshi has Raichu because it was a game based manga from 1996, when Pikachu was not the mascot. The PocketMonsters manga (wh is published in CoroCoro today with the same protagonist) has Clefairy and Pikachu unevolved. Every other incarnation has Pikachu, always in unevolved stage.

I knew before that Red and Ash are the same person it's confusing because the clothes aren't indentical like May and Dawn with the fames but is proven that Ash Ketchum is a counterpart of Red in the games (and in the practice, of every male progtagonis except GSC and B2W2.

Also, Red game isas goodas the player. And I hope that the specisal isn't a excuse to attack Ash.

Actually, Satoshi's Generation I outfit was basically Red's Generation I outfit with a blue coat of paint on the jacket and a different hat symbol. Besides Satoshi facial marks, their faces and hairstyles were otherwise the same. To the point where it gets annoying whenever a misinformed fan sees Gen I Red and asks "is that Ash cosplaying as Red?? lolol" (how do you even discern that?? lol)

Now that Satoshi's hair has changed somewhat to match Red's and his hat is once again a modified version of Red's current hat, the clarity *should* have came back. If you forget the fact that his Kalos jacket design is based on Calem's jacket, it might as well be a blue version of Red's FRLG jacket seeing as its worn in the same style anyway. That black undershirt definitely belongs to Red.

He's not a counterpart of any of the other male characters of the games though. Kenta = Anime!Hibiki. Anime!Yuuki exists and Anime!Kouki exist - they had cameos. The other males just lack counterparts.

^ It's weird when some fans like to deny the resemblance. There is a reason why some fans accidentally called Red "Ash" in the games, especially during Gen 2. Seriously, Ash looks more like the original Red than the remake version, the Poke Special version or the one that's going to be in the origin tv special.

My ideal Red would be a merger of different aspects of each counterpart

Anime Ash- I would say his Kanto personality, but I like EToP more, so I would say his DP skills

Special Red- mix his skills with DP Ash

EToP Ash- his personality. To me he was a better version of Kanto Ash and I found him very enjoyable

    Isamu- take the Clefairy

Zensho Satoshi- RAICHU. He deserves more recognition just for that.

Shuu- loved the fact that you saw his father and an interesting backstory about his father searching for Mew.

Game Red- I guess being champion? Honestly he's the most boring of the bunch. They won't even allow him to talk. Where's the fun in that?

Agreed! All of the Reds had pretty unique characteristics that set them apart in varying degrees.

^ May I ask how do you/see picture Red/Satoshi? I know you are planning a doujinshi (I am interested in seeing the final product). So, are there aspects from different counterparts that you are going to incorporate or like to see incorporated?

It depends on where the story is, some counterparts are definitely inspirations. The anime's original depiction of Satoshi (Kanto and its fmovie, and in all of Shudo's works, which includes the second and third movies) isn't far-off from what I imagine being the perfect depiction of Red during his initial journey. I imagine he'd grow even more from there.

Here's an outline of my current plans for my doujin manga:

The first saga, in spirit of using the anime's beginning, my Satoshi is a better version of his Kanto anime counterpart (less pity badges), though not exactly much Dengeki here. Dengeki's universe will get incorporated in the universe, instead, mostly the technology. Obviously, like his Special and game versions, he'll disband Rocket Gang and become Champion of the Pokemon League. Shades of the games inspire his characterization as well - I plan on having him bond/travel with the Karakara from the Pokemon Tower arc and have the Rocket's murder of its mother be an inspiration to take them down. Since I'm planning on having Fushigidane evolve into Fushigisou, you could say his team of starters mirror Pokemon Trainer from SSBB.

You could alo say Shuu is somewhat incorporated because Satoshi's father and his relationship will be explored A LOT. Though it's mostly based off of Shudo's notes of the anime in his novels.

Time skip to GSC. In contrast to many other fans, I think Red in the games is the most mysterious one out of the bunch. Why is he on the mountain? What exactly happened to him? I'd like to think there's a reason for it, and hate it when people bash Red for being up there "for no reason" when we don't know either way. This mysterious aspect is what I'll incorporate during the GSC arc where Satoshi is on Mt. Silver. Here, he becomes stoic - but there's a reason for it and he'll need to break out of his shell with the help of the main protagonist. He may even be a mix of his "Jou's Big Adventure HGSS" manga counterpart after his re-awakening (I haven't read that manga, but that Red looks very hotblooded and at the peak of battle confidence). At this point, his battling prowess in on the level of his DP anime self, though a bit more godly.

FRLG, he's eased back into some of his original personality after becoming a wanderer again. Though not entirely so, since GSC is still very much there. The best I can describe this is... that it's mostly similar to that blog of the doujinishi I made a few posts back, in terms of the Red "Sei Jun" used. A Red that has many memories of his travels and the experience to prove it, but still a fun character to follow as a protagonist overall. It will mostly be due to character development he received in the GSC saga. The opening monologue of FRLG Chapter would be something along the lines of: "A young boy from Jouto... proved to me that there's no limit to how strong you can become. With that, my journey with Pokemon - my meetings, adventures, and battles - begins anew!"

In BW2's PWT... he's 18-19. I plan to have Satoshi take in aspects of FRLG Red's stern expression and crank up the hotblood here. He'll be rather intimidating, but he's still the same ol' character from the Kanto saga to the core when everything is mellow. This is the personality that is the culmination of all of his previous travels. You can say this is where my "Red" becomes truly my own product.

I really love your ideas! I was thinking of the doing the something similar, but in fanfic form. I was planning on using the anime as the base universe but incorporate concepts from different versions, including making some plots closer to the game.

I like that you want Cubone to join Ash and use it as motivation against Team Rocket. It makes me realize that the protagonists of each generation probably need more elaboration on their reasons to fight against the crime syndicates beyond the obvious. Something that's a little more concrete than what was in the games.

At first I wanted to give Ash only one starter, but seeing some of the older episodes made me reconsider. I do want him to officially capture pokemon that he bonded with, like Haunter for example. I was also thinking of giving him Clefairy as a nod to Isamu.

The backstory of Shu's dad made me want to borrow it for the potential of it meshing with the Mew/Mewtwo storyline. I want Mew/Mewtwo to be the main legendary plot for Ash. The legendary birds can be tied to a Leaf-like character and it will also tie to Lugia and possibly be a prequel to Gen 2.

I was thinking of either transforming Melody (from the second movie) into an anime equivalent of Leaf, or to use Leaf and borrow aspects of Melody's character.

My idea was to replace the Orange Islands with the Sevii Islands but have the Legendary Bird plot be similar to the second movie. Leaf/Melody fulfill a similar role that she did in the anime and will also be the focus of the Team Rocket plot on the Islands.

I was also hoping to improve the character arcs of Misty and Brock. I would play up Misty's insecurity over her sisters and admiration for Lorelei as her motivation as well as develop her crush on Ash. I was thinking Lorelei could have been the former Gym Leader of Cerulean.

Brock will definitely have more importance in Gen 2 since it introduces the breeding functions. Maybe a friendship with Lyra (I want her to be the grandchild of the Day Care couple)

There are other ideas for the other generations that I had in mind.

    Lets be honest ,
If Red become champion in ''Pokemon Origin'' then he will become better then Ash no matter how CLOSE Ash get to achieving his goal AGAIN !
and Ash bashing will become even Worst !
So , If Ash also win the League in kalo region then there might be some decrease in Ash-bashing .
Unfortunately , The Cowardly Director/Writer doesn't has the nerve to do it become some idiot believe Ash & Pikachu are a cah-cow So If they finish Ash's journey and start a new series with new Protagonist then it might harm Merchandise sales !
Pokemon Anime Director/Writer should just watch ''Precure'' rather then hearing those Idiot because Precure still doing fine despite changing the Protagonist in every series .
Precure is rated higher then Pokemon BW Da and its Merchandise sales is higher Or same level as Pokemon & Doremon !
