Everyone's favorite guy, the most popular game character of generation 5, the hype for the very arc.
They did a great job portraying as he is in the games - disliking trainers ordering their pokemon to battle, considering pokemons are forced into doing rescue labor...
why he didn't take notice of the Magikarp salesman at the Kanto Fair is beyond me
Anyways, I like how they sort of made him be able to hear pokemon's voice as if he can directly talk to them, not to mention how he can call upon help on any pokemon in the area.
However, he's been more or less a pokemon punching bag @FANG-TAN
;), and nothing else of his childhood "friends" have been mentioned - Zorua, Darmanitan, or Woobat. Also, they didn't even drop a single mention like "actually, Ghetsis is my dad". They just left their relationship ambiguous, and it was hard to comprehend what Ghetsis and N have to do with each other in the first place, if we hadn't played the games beforehand. Also, Anthea and Concordia were more like his friends than step-sisters, but that's somewhat trivial compared to his relationship with Ghetsis.
Still, his personality was well expressed, and his voice acting was great. I liked his interactions with Ash as well. Having different opinions on the wellbeing of Pokemon, yet wishing for the wellbeing of Pokemon all the same.
N earns a 8/10
