My first public performance!

I just got home from my Drama exam. We performed a play each in two groups of seven. My group went first performing Dennis Potter's Blue Remembered Hills and we were terrified of this because not only did we have the examiner watching and marking and filming but we also had an audience of a couple hundred people (family, other students, a couple of school governors etc) and our piece had been horrible most of the time including the last dress rehearsal because half of us hadn't been in half the time and didn't even know all the lines and cues.
Well, that didn't stop us putting on a good show. For my first public performance since the stupid stuff you do in primary school, we actually managed to get a lot of laughs and a lot of applause. Everything went well; what was forgotten was quickly glossed over and moved on and when I later asked people if they noticed, they honestly hadn't. Most of all I am happy that just after my biggest and very first appearance in a scene with one other character we actually got applause and the next scene had to be delayed slightly. By the time we got backstage the rest of the cast and I were jumping and silently cheering and I honestly almost cried. I can't believe how well we pulled it off; the second group also did well and we ended up in the drama room with our two directors eating cake and copious amounts of sweets and dancing (that is, after we called our group's director down during the final applause to give her flowers and presents and give a little speech before we had a huge group hug).
Putting on this performance has caused me so much stress and we have had so many arguments with each other and our teachers. I have lost a lot of sleep and a lot of composure leading up to this and yet now it's over I almost miss the process even if it has left me sore all over and completely exhausted from worrying, running around and being under the stage lights so much.
