I wanted to get this out sooner, but life kept happening. Sorry.

Anyway, this is it. The final countdown, my top ten favorite Pokemon! Are you ready for this? Let's go.

So yeah. That's finally done! I actually can't believe I finished this. I gotta say, there was a point where even I doubted I could do it. But yeah, it's done.

What do you guys think of my list? Do you agree with it? Disagree? I encourage you to make a Pokemon Top 100 of your own. It's a lot of work, but it is very fun.

Anyway, lemme know what you think in the comment section below. Until next time, guys.

Chikorita was my first starter, Silver was my first game, and I'm pretty sure that Lugia was my first legendary!

Being a Grass fan myself, it's no real surprise that so many of your faves are mine as well. Randomly catching an episode of Pokemon featuring the little bulb-backed toad made me realize that this "Pokemon" thing I'd been seeing around was not a Tamagotchi knockoff, but a Gameboy game. I promptly went out and bought it; I was very upset that Bulbasaur wasn't featured on a game cover. And I'm also a Chikorita fan. He (mine was a boy) solidified my tradition of always choosing the Grass type at the beginning.

I've really enjoyed reading your top 100; I feel somewhat motivated to create my own now.

Not only did I pick Chikorita, nor trained it unevolved... My very first Chikorita in Crystal took down Lance's Dragonite in one of the most awesome Pokémon battles I ever had. That little battle that made me appreciate Oddish? Psh, that's got nothing to how much I love this particular Chikorita. Not to mention it was already a pokémon I loved anyways.

Basically my second-to-last pokémon fainted while Dragonite was at low HP. Chikorita survived an Hyper Beam because of Reflect with literally 1 HP, and used the recharge turn to fire off the Solarbeam she just gained during that same battle. It was a critical hit.

It was amazing. Unfortunately, I was too struck in awe that I forgot to cancel evolution, so my victory soured a bit.

But still, after that I seriously started considering Chikorita my favorite pokémon for a while.

I'll comment on the rest later, but Chikorita.

@Infinity Mk-II Super liked for the awesome battle and the epic take down of a Dragonite with a Chikorita.

I loved all the Johto Starters and I have to say even though I picked Totodile (my favorite water starter first stage) through my first playthrough of Pokémon Gold I wound up picking Chikorita for the second playthrough. I really have the anime to thank for that I always had an affinity towards Chikorita and how cute yet feisty she was always looking for Ash's attention and because of that every Chikorita I get must be female I just always imagine Ash's Chikorita's voice when I see one (I know bad habit).

On to Blastoise I love love love the Squirtle family and my favorite of all Wartortle OMG super freaking adorable just look at those ear's and that bushy tail that I want to brush non-stop. It's weird when you think about it Wartortle was like at a stage of temporary puberty then when it evolved it lost it's fluffy ears and tail when it evolved into Blastoise. Also answer this please but shouldn't have Blastoise gained the Steel Typing in Generation 2 the same way Magnemite and Magneton did just look what it has steel cannons on its back I think it would have been really cool.

The next one we have something in common we love the Bulbasaur Family by far the best Grass Starters (this is just based on my childhood not anything with competitive battling) in my eyes and nothing will change that. You pretty much said everything and more that I would say.

With all that being said I loved your list and how much work you put into it I honestly had a feeling Venusaur was going to be your #1 Favorite and should have mentioned it earlier on your list ^_^

Since it's the top 10, let me add my own thoughts:

    10) Lugia. While it certainly has that badass look going for it, Ho-oh has always appealed to me more despite fact that Silver was my first game.

    9) Tyranitar is boss, no doubt about that. It wouldn't be in my top 10 but it certainly up there in the top 25.

    8) Ninetails. I never cared for Nintetails much. I don't like or dislike it.

    7) Blastoise. Again, I have no strong feelings about Blastoise, one way or the other.`

    6) Meganium. Now this one, I actively dislike. Not because it's too feminine or anything because I adore Gardevoir and Milotic but I find it to be a major stepback from Venusaur as far as grass starters go but also a stepback from Bayleef who has much better design. Being stuck in the 'can do everything but can't excel at anything' zone does it no favours either.

    5) Scizor is boss. Scyther was one of my favourite from Gen 1 and Scizor only improves on Scyther's badassery.

    4) Dragonite. While only an idiot would deny that Dragonite is the best non-uber dragon in competetitve play, I don't like it too much. I like Salamence more. While it is easy to say that I like it more because it looks more badass, Salamence's whole evolutionary line is made of win. A combination of bug-like metamorphsis (also why i love flygon) and ever-present human desire to fly freely and badass european style dragons is too awesome.

    3) Milotic. No thoughts here. Milotic is amazing and always will be.

    2) I'm pretty indifferent to Houndoom. Never cared much for it though.

    1) Venusaur. I agree with everything you said except i like Sceptile more. Sure it starts out really weak but you get to lvl 29 in RSE and then it's Leaf Blade, all day everyday.

Probably because my visits to the 'garden are sporadic, and I don't comment all that often. But yes, we should chat sometime :)

@Snubbull Lover 777 Yes, I think Blastoise should have retroactively been given a Steel typing in Generation II. But, oh well, what can you do about it?

Bulbasaur and Chikorita are awesome. Totodile and the Squirtle family are adorable.

Thank you so much for your nice comments. ^_^

    @Wyvernphlare Congratulations?

    @Ranger Jack Walker

It sucks that you don't like Chikorita :( But oh well, to each their own. I can completely understand where you're coming from. Compared to Bulbasaur, she does come off as a bit inferior. Even I have to admit that. I still love her though. But yeah, I can understand why you'd dislike it.

I don't actually think Treecko starts out all that weak. I think it's a pretty solid Starter Pokemon even in its base form. The issue I have with Treecko is that it looks too fragile to be able to protect a ten year old from the dangers of the Pokemon world. But as we know, appearances can be deceiving. So while I'm not a big fan of Treecko's design, I really do like Treecko as a Pokemon. And yes, once it learns Leaf Blade, it will start wrecking things.

Okay, I said I'd comment later on the rest, so here. I actually don't have many interesting things to say though.

Anyways, these blogs have been a really enjoyable read. Will you make any other blog series in between now and XY?

I might try to make something similar myself, but I am terrible at organizing favorites.

A flower by any other name would still be one of the most awesome pokémon. (Although I am not sure about a sweet smell, given the flower in question seems to be a rafflesia and "Infernape" is part-poison.)

... Actually, now that I think about it, calling it Infernape might as well be the exception to the saying. It feels like I'm tainting it or insulting it. I'm sorry, Venusaur.
