Best Wishes S2: Episode 12 Review - Operation Tempest (part 1)

Um, well, here is my opinion on the first part of the "epic" TR episodes:

Good points:

-
Meloetta actually interested me in this episode. I wish she had shown more interest in battling before as I could hardly realize she was present in some of the season 2 episodes due to her staying either invisible, off-screen or doing nothing productive. Another thing, Meloetta's song at the end of this episode was beautiful and soothing.

- Usage of Pokémon. Oh boy, an episode where Ash is actually shown to be training? What is this, DP? Joke aside, I was happy to see Ash training Oshawott despite dozens of other Pokémon of his in more need for training. It was cool seeing Krookodile again as well as Iris using Axew for something else other than her hair ornament.

- Ash finally met Giovanni. It finally happened, Giovanni is not Ash's father though their interactions weren't as I hoped they would be. But seeing Persian exchange a few moves against Pikachu was nice to see.

Bad points:

- Jessie, James and Meowth are still boring.

- I honestly can't fathom the logic behind those virtual cubes, cages in which they trapped Ash, Pikachu and Meloetta. I mean, how are those even possible? How can they trap someone? What technology is that? I know we saw it before but it just looked really unbelievable. A net or an actual cage would have been more believable like in the good old times.

- Larry was boring. He was this generic protector who misunderstood Ash and co. for bad guys but then he was convinced otherwise, blah. Boring.

Overall, it was an okay episode and a decent set-up for the action to ensue in the second part of this two-parter. I wasn't a huge fan of how animation looked though since Iwane is doing the next one I'm sure that quality will improve. To be honest, what I'm most excited is Team Rocket finally ending as an organization.

Then maybe can Jessie, James and Meowth go back to being interesting.

Also, any of guys noticed the recycled footage from the postponed/banned TR VS TP two-parter? I wonder if this permanently seals its fate. I've lost hope long time ago.

Also, it's interesting to note that Cynthia was seen somewhere where preparations of some event were taking place. I wonder if it was the League.

    I actually prefer the stupid cube things. I mean, they're ugly as fuck, but putting Ash and Pikachu in a regular cage seems cliche and dumb at this point, especially since they've broken out of a million cages before already. And the Pokemon world does have pretty advanced technology, so I'm used to it. I just hope they explain their origin, though. Is this technology available to everyone? Is this only available to Team Rocket? Did Seger invent it?

    It would be nice if someone can explain to me the logic of a Pokeball.

    @Karamazov;

    My main problem with them is that ... they look dumb. :I

    @捷克羅姆;

    Lol, Pokéball is much easier to explain, I can actually imagine how it could work. But I don't understand how those cubes could work and they just look silly to me. Stupid cubes. xD

    IT MADE ME CRY ;_;

    Uhh, the amount of on-screen training always increased whenever the League was closer. It's been happening since OS. Nothing new.

    I agree! I mean, this world's technology is so unbelievable! Balls that contain monsters? Teleportation machines? A clock as big as the Eifel tower that could calm down legendaries? WOWZIES xD! Nothing new.

    He's at least cooler than the generic protector and is a better Lewis.

    She said that it was just an event.

    One of my favourite moments:

    Damn, Ash and Meloetta must have been pissed that their sexy time was ruined :3.

    Wow, is that a noddy cap. xD

    Also, DP has more training than BW has so far to the amount of training itself and the training episodes has gotten lower, it has regressed.

    I can't properly comprehend what you've just written xD.

    Uhh, 96 episodes vs. over 170. Yeah, fair comparison XD.

    Okay then, 96 episodes of DP had more training than 96 episodes of BW. :P
