So, Emerald Battle Frontier.

Yeah....I think I'm going to give it a shot sooner or later. The first Pokémon I'm going to raise to battle with there is a special attacking Salamence. Now, the question is...what Pokémon would make a good partner for Salamence, and what would be a good third Pokémon to go with those two? Any suggestions?

    This won't be a helpful post, but I'm happy you're challenging Emerald BF.

    I personally like it much more than Sinnoh one.

    How about Scizor and Swampert? You can switch in Scizor on an ice attack and Swampert on a rock attack, then for Scizor you can switch to either on a fire attack, and on Swampert you can switch to either for a grass attack.

    Dusclops. He's crazy defensive and versatile.

    I think Metagross seems like a cool partner.

    Your Pokemon choices really depend on what facility you're challengin, IMO.

    Yeah, honestly, I think a physical Salamence would do much better. That's just my IMO though.

    Metagross would also be a good one. Also, like Mizu stated, your choices depend on what facility you're facing.

    Metagross has pretty good type coverage, and it'll be a real help against Lucy.

    Make sure you give special attacking Salamence Hydro Pump.

    The pokémon really deppends on what are you challenging. The Emerald Battle Frontier isn't like Gen IV or the subway, that regardless of whichiever twists are there it is basically pure competitive battling.

    The facilities in Emerald are all varied and while you could try to brute-force your way through them with strong pokémon, the best way is to optimize them for each.

    Well, I caught a Modest Bagon on my first try, and Dragon is a special type before Gen 4, so I figured "why not?"

    Although his Hidden Power type is Water, I did not get one with Hydro Pump; I just caught one wild.

    But I think I may go with Metagross for his partner. Thanks for the suggestions, guys. ^^;
